am i good at terrianing

well i just want to know if im good at terraining so can u tell me if im good or no or need some work,ect. i did this map just to check if im good.

You used nice extensive doodads on the sides but it looks like the middle is to plain :/ try unevening the ground a bit.. maybe bit some crops in the middle (not massive loads just the odd few). Otherwise it looks pretty good, its really hard to tell from that angle maybe take another screen shot a bit higher, about a 40-50 degree angle, and delete the other on and show us again and we will rejudge it cause that is really hard to judge when you can't see much.

I think it looks good. Nice and realistic. Maybe add some bushes or something to the middle area, I agree that it is kinda plain. But other than that good job

I like the sky, what did you do for that? Also add some random animals, rabbits, etc, around places gives it a another touch to it.

1 more thing where the ramp is u can see like a line where the terrain changes make the terrain line up there

Its very good in my perspective. But use the Noise terraining tool for the middle to make it more realistic. You should put some more critters or creeps in, i like the bunny . Overall i would give it a 4/5

I like the color variation in the center. How did you darken it? Normally two types of grass don't blend as nice.

Open areas are great for battles; can't have doodads everywhere. Look at all of blizzards maps.

Its simple, catchy, well layed out, and apealing to the eyes.

True but the Asenvale tileset is different. Its grassy dirt is very good if you want to melt hide that edge from grass.


Like the screenshot. I dont mind if its flat. There is areas on this earth that is flat. Old sea bottom, driedout svamp ect.

Nice. You're good with doodad placing. One thing about that height variation, paths should be a litle lower than the land around.
Remember that a path that is often used ,by humans or animals, is lowered (dont know the right word).

i like how it looks, and like somone else said the middle is sorta a good battle area, one question, how do i add skys to maps?

Chances are you already HAVE a sky...Click on View -> Sky, make sure it's checked, then put your camera angle to the ground and see if you can see the sky
