Ancient Arena in the making, need ideas and stuff!

That's right! It's a new Hero Arena that i am working on, i need ideas for:

units
abilities
items

that's it at the moment, here's the bare bones of it:

A long time ago, there was a large arena where people from all over the world came to compete, since then it was buried by earthquakes and other stuff. Now it has been undug and rebuilt, 12 people find it full of things and they decide to compete against eachother.

Choose from a huge range of heroes, each with their own unique powers. All heroes have a specialty inside them that enables them powers hat no one else can access. You are split into two teams of six and you may challenge each other whenever you like. After 30 minutes of the game, the team with the most kills win!

So if you have any good ideas for this please tell me, i gave all my ideas away to people working on their own project (who says i can't use them anyway? they're mine right )

Hmmm.. i'll start with a small number like 5000 then build up to the truly big numbers 500000 (joke) any number of heroes, i dont care, i have a pretty big space for hero selection ( i could either use taverns and have a really number of heroes to choose from, or i could put them in the hero selection area, where you can then see their initial stats.

Abilities: I am talking about anything from things like blizzard ( ill do that easy stuff )
and the advanced stuff (expect alot of questions on this kind of stuff if i can't figure it out.)

Items: Anything special

Sense then, a fight has arised between the people that want to put the artifacts, relics, and treasures on display in a museum and the people that want to sell them on the black market to get rich.

Ok now I'll think of items......

Instead of potions you could have dusts:

Holy Dust (heals)
Speed Dust (makes you attack faster)
Leg Dust (makes you run faster)
Repair Dust (all weapons could break and if they break you lose the item so if you use repair poder to repair it)
Posin Dust (sprinkle over your enimy to posin them)
Escape Dust (teleports you home)



You could have an ultimet sword called the Grade Zero that is really hard to get. Like in the base of each team there would be a portal to the "other world" and you have to fight lots of stuff there and at the end there is a fountain or omthing and you have to offer ALOT of gold to the gods and then you could have like an inferno ball drop down from the sky and it lands right infront of you and the items then appears. And you can get different things depending on how muhc gold you give. And different effects would appear for each one. Like starfall would come down for one, inferno thing like I said, ummmmmmm tranquility. And if you offer less then like a certain amount the gods kill you

Its a gun that shoots granades, I think its sorta cool.

Oh you can also like evolve the guns and swords for a certian amount of money so say you get the granade gun you can upgrade it to the sigma bazooka. And thats the only way you can get the bazooka.

I think i'll go with your intro occosin, although the arena was undug by other people then 12 people just came and competed for glory and money, apart from that, yours is great!

I'd include a sword called MageMasher that has the feedback ability that burns mana with each hit.

A fire sword that burns their hp for a few seconds after each hit.

Ice Sword that slows movement speed

Lightning sword that uses purge each hit to remove buffs.

mm maybe daggers have +10% attack speed but do reduced damage.

hammers + war axes have decreased attack speed but huge damage

swords somewhere in the middle

@NoxMortus (forgive me i have bad memory and may have forgotten your name ) - Your name will be used for a hero i just thought (if pwnthepanda didnt list this ) of. He is the Sandman! Special Power - Sandstorm - stuns units within range for 10 seconds.
@PwnThePanda - your shapeshifters special power was shapeshift, it enables him to transform into a creep/hero that you can click on as the target. lasts 60 seconds.

@0ccosin77 - the zombie that is named after you has quite a good power - it can restore itself, giving it 1+ to alll stats every time you actvate it (yes it is permanent). It has a 60 seconds cooldown.

Anyone else who can help, i will inlude you in this aswell (no you dont get to be two heroes for helping twice lol)

and mabey a Nightmare Alter? like when players use it they can summon dark stuff to hit the enmeys hard eg. Portals of Hell (have it summon like undead spirts in the enemy base)

Oh and UnknownVector, it would be good if you do custom icons. I need one done for the shapeshifter's cat nip ability (not drugs, dont worry, it just summons a lot of cats). You could used a dried up leaf, or simply scale my avatar and improve the tongue.

I could go around wc3sear.ch looking for things like models and spell i suppose

Ok time for ideas but first to recap........u better give me rep because ive been doing a shit load of thinking.


3 types of heros, sword wielding, gun/bow wielding, and staff wielding (shoot magic as ranged but also has bad normal attack)

What I was thinking is that each unit could have a type, normal, fire, frost, lightning, water, etc. so you could make things more effective to certain things like the flame stone.
