with the data editor alone you can make practically anything, Best of all because its in the data editor, it practically guarantee's the best performance possible (unless blizzard codes thier game badly) , so its leakfree good stuff.

In war3 it was the belief that any spell not supported by triggers was bland and boring (which i agree )so you needed guys who new their jass very well to make any fancy spells. You could make it in gui, but the lag and Non mui situations and unpreventable leaks was just fucking painfull.... Gui is hot trash in war3.

Anyway right now The tides have changed.. i think if you make trigger enchanced spells in sc2, The people here at thehelper can actually Point out wrong doing .. Cause if the overall aim of a custom spell is
1)efficiency
2)leak free
3)working great spell

its all possible in the data editor of sc2.. so its actually bad practice in my opinion to trigger enhance any spell in sc2. ,...

Now i can tell you trigger expert guys that "because you use codes, your spell will never be as good as a data editor made spell :p " .. so boy have the tables turned lol

we all know the people here.. ready to jump onto anybody's custom spell in war3 to tell them to not code in gui, learn jass, u fail etc LOL..

Btw i just made a flaming wheel go outwards then around the hero very easily, i even created a pentagram.. this is something i could not do at all in war3..
I love sc2 editor.. except for its multilevel support. other than that its great

I made a spell that made it so that if that unit came within DIRECT contact with another unit is would die instantly. Then I put it on a baneling, which rolled, at incredible speeds. Plus, I added a sprint ability to it, plus a jumping ability. Chaos ensued.

put together some spells for us to see in a test map so we can share in your revel! Because... My knowledge of the data editor could use some of your brains.

well yeah.. no offense, just an observation.

People who did not learn to code in wc3 : "Epic stuff I can do EVERYTHING."
People who learned to code in wc3: "...so? I can still do that in wc3."

and this is pretty cool though:

I beg to differ from your opinion. I think that both have their own strengths and advantages. As far as I can tell, they each are able to do certain things that the other can't, or is more efficient at it. There are still things with Triggers that the Data Editor can't do(e.g. functions, custom dialog, unit groups etc), but unlike WCIII, this time the Data Editor has things that Triggers have trouble doing(e.g. Turrets, Actors, etc).

everything you mentioned there kildare had nothing to do with spell making and that was my soul aim of this post.

Its obvious u need triggers for win/loose stuff, and dialogs.. that's a given.

i refereed specifically to "trigger enhanced spells" and i don't see anything the data editor Cant Do better, than the trigger editor when making spells.

Nonsense.

1) Using GUI should be similarly efficient to using the coding that's available in the data editor.
2) galaxy has a GC so this point is just nonsense.
3) So what? There's stuff you can get to work so much easier in a coded spell, things that are much easier to adjust and stuff. The catalog action makes coding the tool of trade.

its all possible in the data editor of sc2.. so its actually bad practice in my opinion to trigger enhance any spell in sc2. ,...
That's like saying "you can code in wordpad just fine... Using an IDE is bad practice".

Now i can tell you trigger expert guys that "because you use codes, your spell will never be as good as a data editor made spell :p " .. so boy have the tables turned lol
No they haven't. Before you needed both oe and te to create a good spell - now much more is possible in data module alone, but the data module uses triggering itself. There is so much spell relevant stuff the data module cannot do without coding... As a matter of fact, you have to basically code everything right now. You just didn't notice because the coding is done in the data module.

For a reason.

Your whole post just shows how little you understand of SC2 and WC3.

Btw i just made a flaming

You just made a flame war thread. I'll ask a mod to close it.

So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
