i am having a lot of trouble how to make aoe spells. for example. i want to make a spell that cast entangle on multiple units. any ideas would be great

also...can any one tell me why this trig does not work???

Unit-a unit begins casting an ability

Condition
(ability being cast) equal to Summon

Actions
wait 5 seconds
Unit-move (target unit of ability being cast) instantly to (position of casting unit)

What im trying to do is have spell that summons any allied unit to the unit casting the spell. In my mind this trig makes perfect sense but for some reason it does not work

That trig doesn't work because AoE spells have no specific target.

For mass entangle - you can't do it just with entangling roots, because it's a base single target spell.
I can think of a way of doing mass entangle with an AoE that isn't based on war stomp / thunder clap.. but it requires using alot of JASS - handling variables and finding the target area of the spell.

what about lich frost nova (just add buf of entagle roots or do it with trrigers)
action cast entagling roots on unic efected by frost nova

hey shush the spell for that trig is not an aoe its a single target spell.

and what is jass?
