Areal Shackle - removing the animation and adding new?

So it's been a year or two since I last tinkered with world editor but I got hooked up again. Anyways, I'm trying to make an ability, kinda like pudges dismember (DotA). However I can't get rid of the areal shackle animation, how do I do that?
Also I want to have a "gore" effect to show while the target is "shackled".
It may be a simple question but I don't know, might be because I've been gone for so long ;)

IMO, Pudge's hook is much more complicated than you make it out to be ._.

For the gore effect, Shackles give a buff, change the buff effect to the gore models that WC3 offers
Aerial shackles is a lightning effect, just look for that field and empty it, I believe

You've misunderstood me. What I'm trying to make is pudges dismember. It's simply based off areal shackle, however I can't get the animations to change.

EDIT: Regarding the buffs, I've deleted all the buffs, but there is still a shackle animation on the target.

Sorry for the screw up.

I mixed up hook and dismember for some reason ._.
The shackle animation comes from one of the art effects, I believe.

He's right. I dont understand anything.

What I'm trying to make is Pudges dismember ability (from dota) which is based off areal shackles. However I can't change the areal shackle s animation from the spell, even thought I've deleted all buffs.

Okay but the wierd thing about it is the fact that I've deleted all buffs and effects, and yet it still shows areal shackles effect on the target unit.
Default, there are no art effects on areal shackles btw.

Go to the aerial shackles buff under the "Buffs" tab
Change the Art-Target Field and remove the model file

You can change it to a gore model for the gore effect.
WC3 has hard-coded the spell to have that buff if no user-defined buff exists in that field

So, remove all buffs from the aerial shackles spell

and chng the model from the buff's Art - Target field

Okay so what I've done is I've removed everything from the ability itself.
I have changed the art - target of the buff to Demon Hunter <special> and now it doesn't give the areal shackle animation anymore, but it gives the "gore animation" which is great. However I can't get the animation to loop. It only displays when the spell begins and then it doesnt show anymore.

Here is the trigger.

Trigger:

      • Unit - A unit Starts the effect of an ability
    • Conditions
      • (Ability being cast) Equal to (==) Dismember
    • Actions
      • Set Caster = (Triggering unit)
      • Set Target = (Target unit of ability being cast)
      • Set Damage = (0.75 x (Real((Strength of Caster (Include bonuses)))))
      • Unit - Pause Caster
      • Unit - Pause Target
      • Trigger - Turn on Dismember &lt;gen&gt;
      • Wait until ((Target has buff Dismember ) Equal to (==) False), checking every 0.10 seconds
      • Unit - Unpause Caster
      • Unit - Unpause Target
      • Unit - Order Caster to Stop
      • Trigger - Turn off Dismember &lt;gen&gt;

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
