art/buff nice special effects not showing

I am still on my custom ability,

facts FYI

its a 'channel' based spell

it lasts about 3-4 seconds (thats dependant on balance etc)

my artwork for it, for some reason isnt showing.........

I have done the following:
a) created artwork for caster (in the ability fields)
b) created artwork for target (in the ability fields)
c) created arwork for the target in its buff
d) added the buff to the spell

nothing i seem to try shows any of the artwork...

has anyone else had this problem, do they know what I am doing wrong/havent done/ need more info.

I know you tried to be thorough, but even what you've posted isn't enough info to tell exactly what's going wrong, and where. I do have a couple of suggestions for you though:

1) Check which ability your custom ability is based on, and find out how that move uses its art. By examining the individual models, you can see which animation goes where. For instance, I noticed you didn't set up any effect art for your spell, but with some channeling spells (I'm thinking of Starfall and Tranquility) a part of the animation is an effect, not a buff.

2) If you do have the right animations in the right places, make sure you know which animations should be playing and when. A lot of the animations available don't loop, so it might pop up and then disappear. Also, if it's based on the target, make sure the target's being effected. Tranquility's healing green glow only appears on targets within range that actually heal damage. If they're at full life, no animation shows.
