Battlenet problem

I am having a problem using the closed Battlenet. I can join other peoples games but they cannot join mine. Open Battle net and TCP/ICP are ok also. My firewalls are off and I am running windows XP home with Cox cable. I have the current edition of D2 and LOD also. Any help will be great. I am runnign AMD 2200+ wiht 780 megs of Ram on a SOYO motherboard. my bios is current and up to date. Thanks for the help.

This is most likely an issue with BattleNet's account tagging system. If you are trying to join games with friends but are not succeeding, try putting a password on the game and seeing if it works then. The tagging system was originally designed to stop cheaters from playing with the general crowd. The system has somewhat failed, as many innocent players are tagged for silly things such as: talking to cain in act 4 (Blizzard has resolved this), being disconnected in the trade screen, and being disconnected at the wrong time in many other circumstances. Also, as I said, people who use some cheats also get tagged, so things such as maphacks, or old duping methods may end up tagging your character as well. Accidental tagging should expire within a weeks time, unless you are still doing something to get tagged again.
 
I have the firewall off for XP and even when I tried a password they were not able to join but I could join them.
 
i don't know, try reinstalling d2, but it kind of sounds like a tagging problem, and kind of sounds like a port not open problem....
 
I have reinstalled D2 twice and get the same problem. No one can Join my games but I can join theirs.
 
ok all It was my router and sorry if I didnt tell you all I had one. The router was stoping people from joining me. Thanks for all the help.

Yah sometimes that information is useful, but since you said you had all the firewall stuff under control, i didn't bother to ask.
 
All the firewall stuff was off but for some reason it was still blocking people.
 
With a router you need to set up port forwarding for it to work.

You need forward port 6112 (tcp and udp) to the IP address of your computer.

Or you can set up your computer as the DMZ Host - which basically forwards everything to it. But that's not good for security.

How do you do that? It's done through the web based admin interface of the router. Check the router's manual for specifics.
 
I have set up 6112 in both tcp and udp also the port 4000. But what is it meant my in and out for the tcp and udp? Thanks.

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

    That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
