Beta testers wanted! (file is to large to be attached, but mail me)

I need beta testers for the level I just made. If you're interested, mail me at [email protected]

PLEASE NOTE: Please pay attention to every detail in the level. Please mention even every tiny little bug or suggestion. Even a somewhat misplaced doodad, a too narrow gap or a spelling mistake in a tooltip. I want to make my level as "perfect" (I know, nothing is perfect) as possible.

OMG, the maximum size of an attackment is 307 KB???
So, sorry, I can't attach the mail to this thread. And Joey Wheeler… Or whatever your new nickname is… :-/
I sended it to all your e-mail adresses, to ensure that it's truly sent. It wouldn't bother you, since you never usually check those profiles anyway.

Stealphish, I couldn't download your img for some reason… What was it about?

Eh, what's heavy lock?
Forgive my rudeness in my previous post. I was… Somewhat suprised that you could attack that "little" to your post in a forum where members post their maps…

I'm afraid its better that I don't let the map be beta tested jet; Friday I discovered a few major bugs, Saterday I added an enormous amount of doodads and other decoration, and Sunday I edited a whole, large section of the map. Though, tomorrow, perhaps tonight, my map will be somewhat ready, I hope.

Eh, what's heavy lock?

See the FAQ under the Map Protectors section.

heavylock will typically reduce your map to about 60% of its original size. I thought if you used it, you might get it small enough to attach here.

hmm, ok thanks for telling me, looks like I will have to hunt around and see whats around for macs.

Stuffit Standard 8.0.2 is a great aplication. It's user friendly and in my own mother language and easy and stuff, but it doesn't work. [/sarcasm]

Does anyone know how to use stuffit? The file stays the same size with me.

TO BETA TESTERS: I just detected some major bugs, which would make it very annoying to beta test. I fixed them in a newer version, which I send to you in an e-mail. And Joey Wheeler, I sended the mail to [email protected]

It stays the same size with stuffit because the .w3m and .w3x maps are already compressed archives. Therefore trying to compress it further does nothing. The only reason heavylock can reduce the size is because it is a specialised war3 tool that can remove a lot of useless information from the map, as well as encrypt data in a more efficient way. Generic compressors like stuffit and winzip aren't capable of doing anything like this.

I bumped up the attachment limit to 500K... we still need to be careful about space on the server so I can't make it too high.

Thanks, Rapmaster. If there's not enough space, you could delete old topics if necessary. Or instead of closing them.

And it won't bother you to much; my map is only 380 kb.

I really need more beta testers… :(

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. When I posted this post, I hadn't discovered yet how to update an attachment.

Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!

  • Stephen Stephen:
Oh no - please don't lose the Nuon content

  • The Helper The Helper:
Someone email AtariAge and see if they want me to transfer the forum data over to it
  • Ghan Ghan:
Could probably keep NUON stuff around here if we wanted.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Hmm what to do about the World Editor site though?
  • Stephen Stephen:
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
  • The Helper The Helper:
There will be a github of the forum data so the NUON Forum Data I guess would be available there
  • The Helper The Helper:
World Editor is technically Ryoko stuff not mine you guys can keep that I am not in that even
  • jonas jonas:
:( end of an era :(
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dont think of it as an end jonas - think of it as a beginning, because really my friend that is what it is.
  • A Andyoyo:
Thank you for the hard work over the years. It did not go unnoticed.
