Bf crashes when i start a game

guy w/ Problem

When i start a game the screen goes black a error sound comes up, and when it goes to thw windows screen for a second a black box is there then it disappears. What can i do about this problem? to e-mail me my email is [email protected] or my aim is phantomskater5

Current confili have the same problem and this is the log
 
Does that mean i should get the newest patch for the game or what??? I'll also try to get the latest driver. I'll tell you what happens.
 
omg, i have the same exact problem... i open it and it starts for a sec makes an error sound and then opens a small window and dissapears... help me... i hjave latest drivers for my vid card and updated to 1.5 same proble... i have a radeon 9700 and im running at athlon 3000+ with 1 gig ram... HELP PLZ :|
 
The solution is simple. Look in the game folder ..\Battlefield 1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings for the file VideoDefault.con and open it in your favorite text file editor. The last line of this file should be :
renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 0
Change it to:
renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1

This worked for me. Hope it helps. Have fun!
 
hmmmz i've had exacly the same problem, but when i did what you said it does the same.

my comp:
amd xp 3000+
512 mb ddr ram
gforce4 ti4600 vivo
directx 9.0

i've tried to reïnstall the game several times....when i want to play the original version it works fine, but the problem appears when i patch the game......and the game worked fine 2 months ago :(

    this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.

    One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
