bf1942 freezes at start screen

for some strange reason, my bf 1942 freezes at the start screen that says battlefield in large letters. It seems like it is trying to read the cd because the cd lights keep flashing, but it just ends up freezing...

oh btw...
i have the 1.2 patch and fully upgraded graphics drivers

any ideas?

i was thinking maybe that a no cd patch could help with this problem since it cant read the cd, does anyone have one i could use?

yeah, i have a cdrw drive and a dvd drive, neither one works

Which OS, video card, sound and ect. do you have.

windows me, gf3, 512mb ram, not sure on sound, but i think its turtle beach

Try this go to this folder[C:\Games\EA Games\Battlefield 1942 \Settings] and look for VideoDefault.con open it with notepad look for this item it should be at the bottom [renderer.allowAllRefreshRates] and change the 0 to a 1
