I wrote this a while ago... My teacher wanted us to write in the style of a children's book, so it has some illustrations by me. 
(You have to imagine this being a children's book, with large text and a picture on each page.)
Billy and the Computer
Written by the Lumpy
One day Billy was reading a book when a package arrived. "My new computer is here! Now I won’t have to spend my time reading those boring books anymore," said Billy. It was packaged in a beautiful corrugated cardboard box, and sealed with glistening packing tape. Black letters spelled out "Billy" on the side of the box.
Billy couldn’t wait to open the box.
"Be careful with the scissors," his mother warned. "They are very sharp and you could pierce your arm!"
Billy was not careful with the scissors.
Five sticky Band-Aids later, Billy was ready to set up his new computer. He already had an area of his room designated for his computer. It had taken him hours to clear off all the junk from his desk.
Billy carefully took the new computer out of its box. The computer carefully fell out of his hands and landed on his foot. While his father disassembled the computer to check for broken parts, Billy’s mother helped Billy put two Band-Aids on his foot. Meanwhile, Billy gnawed on his thumb.
Billy’s father detached one side panel of the computer. Inside, thousands of dazzling wires and connectors sparkled.
"That’s the motherboard," educated Billy’s father, pointing to an indiscernible area of wires and plastic.
After determining that nothing was broken, Billy’s father reassembled the computer and carried it to Billy’s desk.
"Be careful when you plug it in to the outlet," warned Billy’s mother. "You could shock yourself!"
Billy was not careful when he plugged it in.
"Ow!" yelled Billy.
"Don’t yell with such a big typeface, Billy!" scolded his father. "It uses up so much valuable printer ink."
One bucket of cold water later, Billy was ready to start up his computer. He pushed on the switch, which broke off with a loud POP!
"DADDY!" shrieked Billy.
"I’m right here!" exclaimed his father. "There’s no need to be so loud."
Very quietly, Billy yelled, "SORRY, DADDY!"
After Billy’s computer booted up, his father helped him download drivers and important updates. To Billy, this seemed to take hours. To Billy’s father, it took hours.
Finally, everything was ready, and Billy logged on to his computer for the first time. There were so many cool features he wanted to investigate. He started the application titled "Pinball."
Suddenly, the screen went blank.
"daddy!" yelled Billy, completely forgetting about capitalization.
"You haven’t been getting malicious computer viruses while I was downstairs, have you?" inquired Billy’s father.
"I didn’t do anything!" exclaimed Billy. "The screen just went blank."
"Well, let’s take a look," said Billy’s father. He peered around the desk to the back of the computer. "Your monitor cable is unplugged. That’s why the screen went blank. I guess it wasn’t plugged in very tightly."
Billy resumed his pinball game.
"High Score!" said a synthesized robot voice through the computer’s speakers. Billy began typing his name into the high score box. He hit the "L" key, but nothing happened. He tried again, with no result. He moved the mouse to click the cancel button, but the cursor on the screen wouldn’t move.
By now, Billy was very frustrated. "Daddy," he called, "The computer stopped working again."
"Billy, I’m busy right now!" shouted his father from downstairs.
Billy spent a minute thinking about his computer. His gaze drifted to his open bedroom window, and then back to his computer again. "This computer is just too much trouble," he said to himself. And with that, he got up from his chair, picked up the computer, hauled it across his room, and flung it out the window.
It landed on his mother’s car.
Billy was shipped off to boarding school for the next five years, where he enjoyed spending his free time reading books.
