i think my a/c got hacked......but again i hope its blizzard giving me problems. cos i bought this cool a/c on ebay the other day. i got it changed the password and played. but then after one day i had troubles logging in to the a/c sometimes i can log in sometimes it says invalid password.

but its been 2 days now and i completely cannot log in and everytime it says login error.

if it got hacked can i ask bnet to do a investigation if i can provide the last 2 passwords??? or are does bnet bother wif such stuff at all.

and i DID NOT d/l hacks or anything. and my other a/cS did not get hacked so i dun think i got a Backdoor or anything here anyone has any advice on wat i should do. The a/c costed me $75 and i would hate to lose it

thanx
:( :(

Blizzard only stores the latest password. Blizzard encrypts the passwords so they cannot be viewed by someone with access to the servers. Blizzard will not recover or change a password.
If it's been on an off I'd chalk it up to server error and wait a few days. The servers have been unstable due to the latest duping spree.

Maybe Blizzard found that account on ebay too and deleted it...?

I'm just guessing there, and I doubt it anyway.

If your password was easy to guess, it may have been stolen from you:

Extreme care should be taken in choosing your password. If your password is easy to guess, someone may be able to access or steal your Battle.net account.

Bad Passwords:
Exactly match a word in the dictionary
Match a reversed word in a dictionary
Match a word in the dictionary with some or all of the letters capitalized
Match a reversed word in the dictionary with some or all of the letters reversed
Are shorter than 5 characters
Do not contain a mix of letters and numbers, or mixed letters and punctuation
Are based on the users account name, initials, or given name, or any other info about the user: SSN, license plate number, etc.
Are the word "password"
Are your own name or account name
Are common names of people or places
Are a word that can be found in ANY dictionary
Include keys in sequence on the keyboard (like QWERTY)
Include repeating sequences (like "abcabc" or "........")
Are technical jargon (dictionaries for those exist, too)
Examples of Bad Passwords:
mypasswo (plain text)
sarah5 (name based)
..... (repeating sequence)
abcabc (repeating sequence)
hi (plain text, not long enough)
h311o (common word with common letter/number substitution)
gandalf1 (Based on the name of a Character from The Hobbit)
triskeli (Based on a word from Star Trek)
Good Passwords:
Two words separated by a non-letter non-digit, like 'war3%mast' or 'cat, bear#' (note: It's a bad idea to use these exact examples) Are at least 5 characters in length and contain both numbers and letters Should not do any of the bad things listed above

Examples of Good Passwords:
Wc2!itb - Warcraft II ! is the best
W!IHN1SMA - Wow! I hope no one steals my account

ok.......the other day someone told me how to do a skill hack
and there's this guy who whispered to me saying u have admitted to cheating.would blizzard trace all a/cS that a cd-key uses and delete all the a/cS cos a fren told me
and im thinking of purcasing another a/c if that's the case i think i would juz give up diablo

Accounts are linked to nothing but the characters and the password. Not the CD Key, not the IP, not the computer ID, or anything else of the user. It is for this reason that they will not help you in recovering a password: you can't prove it's yours.

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.
