Blizzard Teasing Diablo 3 Splash Art?

It's blue, it's crystalline, it looks like someone cracked the inside of a geode with a fluorescent lamp. Am I seeing things? Is that a face peeking out of the left side of the drawing with an inward spiral bored into the forehead? Faint reddish quasi-runic lines just below the ice-like veneer?

The source code for the page refers to the picture as "icefield," suggesting Blizzard may be planning to "melt" away sections of the splash over coming days.

It's what you hit when you type www.blizzard.com into a browser, and it's up mere days before the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational, where StarCraft 2 was announced last year. This year, the rumor mill's been hard at the business of proclaiming the imminent arrival of Diablo 3.

No. Read the comments on that link Blade posted.

Today (monday) there are 2 runes visible (yeah, one was added) and they are the shael (first one) and hel (second one) runes from Diablo II. There is even more proof.

I have never felt this excited. I can't wait for them to say its Diablo.

I tihkn in Diablo 3, Hell will have actually froze over. :thup:

I personally think that it's alot more similar to the rune on Frostmourne than the diablo rune

They just might have used their texture resources for that image, so that's why there are Diablo-rune-like images.

why would they make all this hype for something that they already announced? What, it will melt away to show arthas? No, no, I don't think that will be it.

There is no need to make a teaser for an expansion and a game that was already announced before hand.

No to Wc4 or anything else except Diablo III. Also, look carefully, there are some red lines around that crack ;).

And there various things that point to diablo... Let's hope Blizzard wouldn't crush the hearts of all diablo lovers announcing something else :p.

And yeah, I don't think it will be WotLK because they already announced that. Why make something so complicated like pictures chaning every day and stuff like this for something everyone knows about alreay? :rolleyes:

Because it's ice, it doesn't necesarilly means it's linked to the Lich King ;).

EDIT: And yes, Pineapple is right. www.diablo3.com no longer redirects to the page with the petition for the diablo III or whatever was that (can't remember the correct link), but it just shows a page cannot be displayed :p.

Someone speculated that 5 runes will appear ( one each day, so there come 5 days ;) ) and they will form a pentagram, with the crack in the middle. Guess who's comming outta there :p.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
