Play Left 4 Dead, you won't get addicted, you play with friends, and it's fun.

Either that our smash your computer with your face.

The choice is yours... :p

The best solution:

Tools required:
  • Hammer
  • Red Sharpie

First, draw a large red 'X' on your monitor with the Sharpie.

Second, touch the head of the hammer to the center of the 'X'.

Third, slowly bring the head of the hammer away from the 'X', while still keeping it steady.

Fourth, bring the hammer back to the center of the 'X' with as much force and speed as you can muster.

I played for 1 month and I was really addicted, then after that month I quit. I got bored with it really quickly :p

first of all, I'm not addicted to playing computer games. Or at least not too much :p

However I'm a little nerdy :> I did no sports until around half a year ago.

But now I have an epic plan to get rid of my nerdyness:
First I do workouts so I get ready to do sports. Just do everything I need to get sportive: a little bodybuilding, dexterity exercises (juggling for now :p) and I give more passion into school sport :O Also do some sport ofc :p

Then I do an exchange year to USA (I'm a euro). Like this I get away from my nerdy friends and find more sportive friends (wich is possible, cause I'm sportive too by then). It's kinda hard to do sports if everybody knows: This guy doesn't like sports.

And finally when I return home to europe I enjoy sports so much that I'll just do sports and be not the least bit of a nerd :p

This is my epic plan. If this really works out my next goal is world domination =D
Man, I told nobody about this plan till now :> it's kinda awkward if everybody believes you hate sports and you ask somebody to do a trip on a bike.

I dunno if it works, but it's sure worth a try

... So you are going to leave your home, and adapt to a whole new school and country to not be called 'nerd'. Or at least hope not to be called a nerd by changing yourself and you attitude.

A friendly suggestion? Just be yourself, in the long run that's the only thing that will keep you sane. Yes, I'm talking for personal experience...

As for the original question. I was addicted to WoW when it came out. I'm talking 3+ hours on that crap every day. That was 4 years ago. I'm completely 'healed'. I no longer have any desire to play WoW and to be honest any other computer gameץ How did I do that? I simply got tired of it... If you feel you need help just delete your account at a moment of rationalism and find something to keep you busy instead of WoW.

Good luck! :)

You say that in a harsh way :O
If I was happy with the current situation I'd not do this.
And it's not like I get myself a new character... it's more like... a new hobby... maybe acceptance?

Also I believe it's the other way round: My character is changing, that's why I do this. I'm not doing this to change my character.
I'm having my puberty so I guess this is normal.

edit: besides I'm doing the exchange year not only for that reason. There is also the default stuff like curiosity, the expirience, getting away from parents and everyday life.

Everything is useless in the end. As long as you aren't having financial issues you might as well enjoy yourself. I'm on and off WoW, when I get cravings, I start playing again. There is nothing cynical, there is no corruption. It's just a game. A fun game. When in moderation. The 8 hour night sessions cause the biggest decrease in the fundementals.

Fair point, but its detrimental when WoW is the priority over school/university/job/girlfriend, and its making the judgment of what is important, that I think should govern whether Wow = good, or bad.

What do people actually mean when they say this? It is critical to all human social interaction that the private and public self be distinct.

Played Wrath for about a month, got 4/5 T7.5 then quit. For a week of that month I was bored then I just stopped playing cause there was nothing to do.

The easiest way to quit is to just get bored. It takes awhile to get there especially if you are a new player, but it is the easiest way.

I played WoW since the 2nd day it came out, and I just recently "quit" it. I still play every once and awhile as I still have a lot of months of time left, but other than that, no I don't ever really feel the need to have to play it.

No. You get bored and you quit. The only craving I get is when my cousin tells me how cool WoW is. We used to play forever together. But if you make it impossible to come back, like deleting your character, you'll stop for sure.

I re-rolled a death knight..

I've never done anything to hurt my WoW account...except for almost canceling once and the peon had emotional issues after.

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
