This is a comparison of some of the most major browsers. Safari is coming soon.

Internet Explorer
ie7_splash.png

Pros:
-Comes with Windows
-No installation required
-While on Vista (and only Vista) it has better security then all other browsers.
Cons:
-No addons
-No additional themes
-No plugins
-Fail speed
-10 Security Loopholes (According to Opera)

Other: Internet Explorer is perfect if you only browse the internet once or awhile. This is also the most used web browser.

Rating:
5/10

Firefox

Pros:
-Download plugins
-Download themes
-Download addon's
-Zoom feature

Cons:
-Installation required
-1 Security Loophole (According to Opera)

Other: Fire Fox is for people who want to take Internet Explorer to the next level. Fire Fox is all about customization, installing add on's etc. A great browser overall. Fire Fox is made by Mozilla. This is also the second most used web browser.

Rating:
8/10

SeaMonkey
SeaMonkey.png

Pros:
-Has built in "translate" feature.
-Has built in Chatzilla which allows IRC chat.
-Has a simple built in program called Composer that is sort of like Wordpad, but you can use HTML to.
-Has a built in email program similar to Outlook Express
-Has a built in Address Book
-Has a zoom-in feature
-Has a few built in themes, but you can download more or make your own.
Cons:
-Can't download plugins for it
-Installation required

Rating:
9/10

Other: This is really an "all-in-1". If you like Firefox, you'll love SeaMonkey. This is also made by Mozilla.

Opera
th_operalogo.png

Pros:
-Has Speed Dial
-Add ons
-Plugins
-Text to Speech

Cons:
-Installation required

Other: Opera has some really awesome Add ons, like the sketch book or birthday reminder. It compliments other browsers well.

Rating:
7.5/10

I'm missing criteria like "security", "speed", "standard compliance". Get some inspiration here or here.

This forum really needs a graveyard.

What's the difference between "comes with Windows" and "no installation required"? Also worth mentioning that all three other browsers have portable versions which don't require an installation.

It's spelled "Firefox" and "SeaMonkey" BTW.

> really awesome Add ons
Objectivity & Neutrality FTL?

> Internet Explorer is perfect
> Internet Explorer to the next level

Fixed.

>Also worth mentioning that all three other browsers have portable versions which don't require an installation.

What do you mean? They don't come up with an install window?

I could change this in my User CP.

Portable: Can put on a flash drive.

Fix IE, you can do plugins. Easy to do even for "My Computer"? ( the hell is that? ) users.

Opera has Zoom, built in E-mail,

1st opera
2nd ie 6
3rd cmonkey
4th ie 7
5th firefox

honestly imo i used all of them xcept cmonkey and i can honestly say i like ie 6 the best.

They? Who are they? And you've got a link to show us? :D

I had some test too, but my fish ate it, before getting swallowed by the cat which in turn got run over by a car.

  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

Another bot invasion 493 members online most of them bots that do not show up on stats
  • Varine Varine:
I'm looking at a solid 378 guests, but 3 members. Of which two are me and VSNES. The third is unlisted, which makes me think its a ghost.

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
