I'm new to the forum so hi everybody, I hope this forum will bring me a lot of help on the world editor because im planning to do an rpg with friends, but dont worry, i know the basics of using triggers cameras and other functions of the editor.

so I wanted to know if it was possible to make a rpg world so huge that it is made of multiple maps, one for each region, like a puzzle. And make a trigger when you get out of one side of the map, it transports you to the linking map, and you can then return back to the first one, just by loading different maps.

If you're referring to something along the lines of the TFT Bonus Campaign (Orcs) then yes, it is obviously possible. How is not a question I can answer, but I don't believe this is possible for a multiplayer map. However, I may be wrong.

Yeah ive been looking for that answer for a while, im wanting to make a linked rpg game but i think it would only work in single player :(

Im pretty sure it wouldnt be multiplayer compatible, but Im pretty sure the following is possible;

Events- a unit enters (your region)

Conditions- entering unit equal to (your unit)

Actions- load (next map) for (your player)

Oh, I'm not saying it isn't possible. As a matter of fact, I'm saying it IS possible, just look at the Bonus Campaign for TFT. They do it on all three levels. Each level has about 10 maps in it, linked. The problem with multiplayer is that you'd have to save every hero's level/abilities/items, and I think that's a bit much just for one person crossing into a region. Also, it's a little cheap that someone might be on the verge of completing a quest, then suddenly the load screen pops up because someone got bored and went to explore...It's just too complicated to do multiplayer wise. I'm sure there are other more complex reasons that my little mind does not comprehend, but that's my take on things.

yeah, i know it would be hard to do for multi, But thanks for the help, ill try that and send you news about it. ill also try to implement weapon attachements and switching. Also i have the trigger to move with arrows and third person camera. But i think it would be more single player, because i wanna make it deep with a main quest around the character, a lot like morrowind.

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.
