Cannot start Diablo 2!!!

i have a problem with playing Diablo 2 in my newly purchased AMD 1.3 GB PC, my specs of it is :

256MB RAm
A7A asus mother board
Hercules 64MB graphics card
sound card: creative live value

ok, i have a problem with starting up the game, well, normally you will see blizzard intro screen when starting up the game, well, my case is that when i click on the D2 icon, the screen jumps into a black screen mode.....initially i thought its loading the intro screen, but it hangs there with no further progress.....wat do you think the problem is? i tried to install the game in another PIII 500 machine and it works perfectly fine. Do you have any advise for me?

Go to Nvidia.com and download and install the latest drivers. Make sure you download and read the how to install drivers readme.txt file

But i had update the graphic driver as well before installing D2.....??

Have you tried

Reinstalling DirectX
Running Scandisk
Defraging
Ending all TSR programs (press ctrl-alt-del and end all taks but systray and explorer)
Reinstalling your soundcard drivers
Reinstalling Diablo 2

???

all done....but no reinstalling direct x, must check it out first!!
