CD Burning

Guys, this is just a copy for myself, i keep backups of all my games, incase i loose them.

I'm having troubles with burning my civilization 3 cd.
I'm getting a "preparing to write CD"
Then it goes directly to "Writing Table of Contents"

I'm using Adaptec CD Copier or "Cd copier Deluxe"
Version 3.5c

I get this message after it's done burning, Error - "T7124 - Trackwriter Error - CD read failed"

I have checked the cd for dust and scratches, none found.

Is this like some new technology stuff that's not allowing me to burn myself a copy?
It really makes me mad, because i rely on copies, cause i find myself misplacing stuff all the time.

Yes, there are some techniques that make is harder to burn CDs.

I read the original post, and there seems to be a problem with the copy itself.

Here are some general hints when making a 1:1 CD-Copy:

Use your CD-Writer to also read the CD-Image - In most cases the CD-Writer can handle more protections!
To avoid coasters always make a CD-Image on harddrive before writing it to a CD-R.
Read the CD-Image at 1x or at a maximum of 8x speed. Reading the CD-Image at 1x speed takes a long time to complete but it is the safest speed to correctly read the image from any CD-Reader. Most modern CD-Readers can handle faster speeds. Just experiment!
CD-Writer software like Adaptec Easy CD Creator will NEVER be able to copy protected CDs and in most cases only interferes with other CD-Writers software! Software like CloneCD, Nero & CDRWIN are far better products!

(I know, I'm lazy, so I copied the text. Mind though that the hints are good.

I just love Clone CD. It makes perfect copies.

First off barb, i said this was for back up purposes only, and secondly civ 3 is not a multiplayer game, it's single player.

Is CloneCD a free software(i can d/l it) or do you buy it?

It's ok to discuss general issues about copying a CD for backups but I'd prefer if we didn't start discussing specific ways to bypass copy protection, regardless of your intent (try google.com since a lot of the answers can be found there anyway.)
