CD Key question (not asking for one)

Basically I've had the same problem as a couple others here with the CD-Key, but I did the problem a little differently =)

I swapped all my CDs over to the slimline cases (you can squish 3 D2 CD's into a case (hehe), took the CD insert, and wrote the CD key on the back. I go to install D2 today so I can play with some friends who are playing and it says "Invalid CD Key!" =( I tried swapping out EVERY piece of the key with a-z and 0-9 and had no luck. After a couple hours of tearing apart the house, I have given in to the fact that the original case is gone.

Anyways, after reading the forums I know you guys don't give out CD-Keys, so my question is this .... I know you guys are gonna flame me for my next question and tell me it's wrong, but I gotta ask anyway.

I really really really =) want to play D2:LOD. If I used a keygen to make up a CD-Key for D2 and then use a legit D2:LOD CD-Key, will it let me play? I really don't have the cash to buy BOTH D2 and D2:LOD again, and paying the 10 bucks to Blizzard would make me have to wait awhile to get the CDs back. Hell, if this works I'll gladly give 10 bucks to Blizzard! I'm just looking for a way to play ASAP.

If noone believes me, I'll hook up my webcam and take a pic of me holding the 3 CDs .... =)

If you were able to install the game then it should also play... As for you question about CD-Key Generators - No. Battle.net checks both CD-Keys so you are out of luck.

The only way out is contacting Blizzard and being patient.

i keep all my cd key back uped in a cd key book, unfortunately somebody stole my cd key book yesterday so i was just wondering if you gusy can give me... (jkjkjkjkk)

but seriously i do keep a back up of my cd key, so when the original ones got scratched off or something like that, i won't have to pay 10 dollar to replace it, or have to buy a brand new game since not all company replace cd key for you

Well, I'm terribly impatient so I just went out and bought the battle chest. I'll probably just sell off the strat guide and D1, don't need those for anything =)

Chest was $50 bucks compared to $60 if I bought em seperately. Only played for a little last night but got my pally up to like 12 and 4 quests complete, so I'm happy =)

Ahh that's ok. I don't mind spending the money on it again. I would have died if I played for a couple days with a keygenned D2 and a legit D2:LOD key just to find that Blizzard banned me for using a non-legit key.

I'm moving along quite well right now ... lvl 24 and just hit act 4. I think I'm moving along too quickly so prolly gonna end up going back and doing a bit over again (hehe).
