Changing Primary Atrribute

Hi I was wondering if it is possible to change the primary attribute of a hero? It would probably be custom script but if it is possible that would be great.

yes, in the object editor, there should be an option to do so about 3/4s the way down.

You could simulate it by making a unit jsut like it, then replacing it with the same items.

The problem is that I am using chaos to change the hero and I want the new unit to have a different primary attribute.

just give the new hero a different attribute in the object editor


if not:
Trigger:
  • unselect the hero
    • replace the new hero with different attribute hero after (duration of transformation + .01) seconds
    • select the hero for triggering player!!

I'm using chaos which stores all of the former unit's data. I have already tried the OE stuff. That's why I am asking :p.

And I don't think that action exists.

Perhaps you should try another morphing ability? Like Druid Bear Form and then removing that ability from the unit

Does Druid bear form do the following things?

1) keep same items
2) replace the old unit with a new unit that has a different primary attribute
3) keep the same experience
4) keep the same abilities at the same level which they were at

4) Im not sure on this because ive only used it on units. But i would say yes.

I hope your right because if I implement this into my 36 triggers and they dont work I'm going to bust a nut. If it does work though then rep to both of you.

I did before. I couldn't get the abilities to be the same level so I didn't use that method.

It's not the cooldown I'm worried about. It's the fact that if I trigger it than the player has to relearn all of his abilities again.

Well in that thread he says how to set the level by giving some skill points and forcing the hero to learn the spell.

create 2 heroes, one hero with X attribute, and other with Y attribute, keep everything else the same...
Give both heroes the same abilities

Trigger:
  • Chaos
    • Events
      • A unit starts the effect of an ability
    • Conditions
      • Ability being cast equal to Chaos
    • Actions
      • Unit - Unselect (Triggering Unit)
      • Wait 1.00 seconds
      • Unit - Replace (Triggering Unit) with (Unit Y) //different hero with different primary attribute
      • Unit - Select (Last Created Unit) for (Owner of (Triggering Unit))
      • Unit - Set the level of Ability1 for (Last Created Unit) to Level of Ability1 for (Triggering Unit)
      • Unit - Set the level of Ability2 for (Last Created Unit) to Level of Ability2 for (Triggering Unit)
      • Unit - Set the level of Ability3 for (Last Created Unit) to Level of Ability3 for (Triggering Unit)
      • Unit - Set the level of Ability4 for (Last Created Unit) to Level of Ability4 for (Triggering Unit)

    I tried to open a food truck in Sandpoint a few years ago but the city said no, then like two years later they passed new laws to encourage it and gave them all fucking tax breaks and shit. And at that point I didn't have enough money to go buy one so I was way too late to the game once other cities realized they could just bring their existing truck there, or sell their brick and mortar.

    I do like food trucks though, they're way more fun than restaurants and usually I also get some of that tip money there.

    Restaurants are really hard if you don't have a back up source of income to fund them sometimes, in my experience most owners either got really really lucky, had existing money that allowed them to buy an already successful one, or they have family money to fall back on for loans. It's few and far between to see very inspiring success stories where the person actually got it through hard work and perseverance. I thought about opening one lots and I always just end up not thinking it'll work. I would much rather just find someone that has that money and go work for them

    @Varine with the restaurants, there surely is a lot of luck and hard work but most restaurants fail because they suck. Flair isn't right, economics not well thought through, food is mediocre or sucks, location is bad, etc. If you're thinking about opening one, make sure you're looking at the stories of those that would be playing at your level, don't let your hopes be dragged down by all the subpar restaurants out there.

    I'm a bit worried about the future of data science, there's an influx of incompetent people hired by incompetent managers, that can't last. But I'm sure smart data scientists will always be useful and hireable. Same as smart security people.

    The CompTIA stuff is pretty much crap unfortunately. The places that ask for those low-level certs aren't likely places you want to work. For IT you really want a degree, but in the meantime you need to figure out some way to learn the skills. Cybersecurity is really hot right now so competition is fierce.

    My daughter just got back from school at Georgetown TX, outside of Austin and said there were 100 cases in the last week but she also said nobody was wearing a mask anywhere so people mask up and stay safe!
