Children of same-sex parents enjoy better levels of health and wellbeing than their peers from traditional family units, new Australian research suggests.

In what they described as the largest study of its type in the world, University of Melbourne researchers surveyed 315 same-sex parents and 500 children about their physical health and social wellbeing.

Lead researcher Doctor Simon Crouch said children raised by same-sex partners scored an average of 6 per cent higher than the general population on measures of general health and family cohesion.

"That's really a measure that looks at how well families get along, and it seems that same-sex-parent families and the children in them are getting along well, and this has positive impacts on child health," Dr Crouch said.

There were more than 33,000 families with same-sex parents living in Australia, according to the most recent Australian Bureau of Statistics census.

Just going to throw it out there: same-sex parents adopt their children, meaning that they get to cherry-pick whom they believe are the "best" or the "cream of the crop" - so it's to be expected for them to have better levels of health and well-being, not to mention that there are certain requirements and screenings prior to adoption that make sure the parents themselves are sane - I wonder how the results would look if they looked at adopted children raised by same-sex parents vs adopted children in general

Where do you get that idea from???
A lesbian couple could go to a sperm bank. A gay couple could have a femal friend of theirs carry their child.

have they stolen the words "healthy" and "happy" now too! Damn! It was bad enough when they took "gay." I'm running out of words to use to express elation.

me: "I'm so happy!"
FC: "Dude, no homo!"

And again it's the same thing where they get the "cream of the crop"
No way. Even if, as unlikely as it is, they find an aryan sperm donor, their impure and under developed gay genes would still make the child an abomination.
I say the only reason they are happier is because they are not smart enough to realize how inferior they are to us, while we have to act like they deserve the right to live.
Is that more like what you wanted to hear?

As for Github, I often frequent there, boasting about my genetic algorithm for tools-assisted speedrunning and such. I'm also pretty active on Discord, with my tag @asperatology.

Yeah, the whole earthquake + air pollution combo made me completely forget about bringing updates. I'll be sure to keep on top of things after all things are less requiring my attentions.

Glad to hear you're okay! I only knew about your Github cuz I tried to follow some of you when I was learning how to program, but didn't understand any of it so kind of quit paying attention to what anyone does on it

Broke the nozzle on my 3d printer and I don't have another heater block. So... I guess I'm fucked on that this weekend
  • The Helper The Helper:
that sucks i bet they are expensive
  • Varine Varine:
    Not really
  • Varine Varine:
The entire hot end is like 20 dollars, I just can't get anymore until next week
  • Varine Varine:
I ordered like five blocks for 15 dollars. They're just little aluminum blocks with holes drilled into them
  • Varine Varine:
They are pretty much disposable. I have shitty nozzles though, and I don't think these were designed for how hot I've run them
  • Varine Varine:
I tried to extract it but the thing is pretty stuck. Idk what else I can use this for
  • Varine Varine:
I'll throw it into my scrap stuff box, I'm sure can be used for something
  • Varine Varine:
I have spare parts for like, everything BUT that block lol. Oh well, I'll print this shit next week I guess. Hopefully it fits
