Choppy Gameplay at Low Graphics; 64mb Video

Even at the main screen the game is quite choppy at about 5fps
[estimate] even on the lowest graphical settings available.

My System Stats: 64mb Radeon 7000 [PCI], 512mb Ram, 1.5ghz Pentium
4, Windows 2000, 37gb free space [of 39.5gb].

I have DirectX 8.1 and the latest drivers for my card installed,
and still the game performance is lackluster. To add, at the main
game screen, my cursor is a crosshair instead of the standard
gauntlet and a small portion at the top of the screen is black.

right click on my computer
select properties
select the device tab
hit the properties button

please list off what is on each IRQ (IRQ = the setting number column)

We have to make sure you are not getting two devices sharing an IRQ that may cause slowups.

I'm running Windows 2000, so I don't have a device tab. I'll look for the IRQ now, though.

I've got service pack 2, so that can't be it.

Check the Windows Update Site. Service Pack 3 is out. Do you have the compatibility update pack ?


Perhaps running in OpenGL might help as well.

Create a Warcraft III shortcut anywhere you want. Add

-opengl

in the target box. I should look like this :

"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -opengl
