Closed realm at useast

I have been looking at Ebay auction items for Diablo II LOD items and some of the items list the location as "USEast Closed Realm".

What exactly is a closed realm?

Can anyone enter a closed realm? If not, how would I get into a closed realm?

I am a longtime player (1.5+ yrs) of Diablo II LOD, and have purchased some great weapons and other items off Ebay for very little $. The current items i am looking at are listed on the closed realms.

A Closed Realm is Closed Battle.net, where your character is stored on Battle.net's server rather than your Hard-Disk. To enter Closed Battle.net, simply press "Battle.net" in Diablo II's main menu. Below "Battle.net", you can choose which realm you wish to join. (US West, US East, Europe, Asia)

I would not advise buying any Diablo II items. The whole point of the game is getting them yourself.

Hehehe, nice touch Rapmaster. Maybe I could make a living out of playing Blizzard games and selling my progress on E-Bay. Better yet, I'll hire employees and my production will rise and so will my profits ! I'd be a millionnaire until Blizzard takes legal action !
