Just wanted to say that you bored me to the point of playing it myself.

Anyway, the game seems to be pretty damn good.

• I liked the terrain, it was different then the other AoS games I've played/made.
• The abilities were well made too look good, and I thought the idea of aiming everything was pretty cool.
• The creeps were boring! Footmen and ghouls... Woo Hoo, I don't see THEM in every other game... Course not...
• I still haven't understood the item sets. You can't buy half those items, and yet I've yet to see a creep drop one, so... You have to combine them, I guess? I haven't found the answer anywhere WRITTEN, or ANY hinting that there even ARE combination items.
• Cool ideas with the towers giving you upgrades and whatnot.

You have a README file in your download? Which, as far as I even bothered to read, was basically the BOOK you wrote in the description of the map?!

Way too much, dude. First off, I recommend shortening the description on the Maps page, since people either won't read all that, will simply move on to the next map, or (this is rare) actually go through all that and play it and either love/hate it. But it's a 1/3 option, and the percentage is even smaller...

The readme file was for... What? Telling me what kind of computer I need to play this? How to play the game?

Well, this arises a question.

Seriously, people who don't meet your "requirements" are going to (laggily, mind you) manage to play anyway. What are you going to do, make a banlist?

As for the "how to play part", I seriously hope this isn't in that readme file (no, I didn't bother to read the entire thing) If it is, you sir lost my respect. I will play the damn game however the hell I feel like! If I want to kick your ass, I'll figure out a way to kick your ass! If I feel like running around between towers and dying, that's what I'm going to do! If I wanna strip naked and run around South River (home town), well guess what?! Your petty laws won't hold me back!

In short, don't take it so SERIOUSLY. There is a fine line between professionally, which is how I believe the GAME ITSELF was built, and seriously, which is how you advertised it.

Seriousness in games = bad.
Professionalism = good.

Oh, and just for reference:
Running naked around South River ain't too grand an idea, either.

Overall, the map gets a 9.5(/10) and NO! the -.5 is (a) not something to whine about, ya prick!) not because of the readme/map page book.

The -.5 is merely because You can always do better.

He uses it to ban idiot leavers and extreme laggers and such. And he lets people off of it, too.

That may not be correct, since I'm not him, but you can ask him yourself. However, I doubt that many, if any, of the people he bans will ever paly his map again anyway.

I wasn't flaming you, or anyone else Sargon, I was giving my honest opinion on the idea of a banlist (whether or not he's got one, that's still my opinion )

I liked the terrain, it was different then the other AoS games I've played/made.

It's not the most beautiful terrain ever put into a map, but I find I have to be pretty conservative with it because stuff like hills mess up the pinpoint AOE selectors (it's almost impossible to aim a pinpoint spell on the bridge because it has crazy elevations)

The terrain itself though, for functionality, facilitates a lot of surprise attacks on flanks, and allows people to change a lane subtilely (unlike charging across a river where everyone can see you)

The abilities were well made too look good, and I thought the idea of aiming everything was pretty cool.

One of the great things about aimed abilities is it allows me to put in strong nukes for casters without them being overpowered. In the scope of an autoaim map, a 350 damage nuke that cools down every 3 seconds and costs 70 mana would be ridiculous. In CoD, it works.

I could do male villagers vs female villagers, although that might turn people off. You do get to see some other creeps when you build user towers that produce units. You can make flesh golems, sea revenants, zerglings, garithoses, bandits, and spellbreakers. Hey at least there's no Treants.

You must have missed the hint it displays at around the 5 min mark. It has two secret shops. For human, their shop is west and a bit south of the top left base. For undead, it's just above and a little east of the bottom right base. Both have stone paths leading to them.

All items are auto combine. Some recipes you could make out of just the main base items though, like the tier 1 items.

Urgency is created for the well being of towers, it simulates the advantage the attacking force gains when they remove a powerful defensive garrison, or bunker. Interestingly enough ToB never used that idea, Dota tried it for a week but their playerbase cried cried cried.

I actually have about a dozen people on the list for slow computers. I don't add them if they say they're having some fps problems (they usually say "my computer can't handle this sorry leaving") but the people that take 5 minutes to load the map I have to do something about (gladly take them off when they stop trying to play on their Nintendo DX). I have the default load screen so I can see just who's got the water cooled custom built and modded beast, and who's got the mouse infested shitbox from hell.

You can pretty much do what you want to, short of running into towers, declaring "shit map" and leaving. Well you can do that too, not like there's anyone that can stop you.

Just to explain the banlist - I have one because it is necessary for the survival of the map. I hope that I can remove it and replace it with a goodlist, however, I don't have the population to do a goodlist yet.

The problem is that leaving is cancerous. Once one person does it, the rest soon follow. This gives people in the game that the map is garbage/imba/not worth playing, and they will never come back again.

My reasons for running a banlist are simply to give the map the best chance for survival by weeding out those who are trying to sabotague its growth. Dota's reasons for doing it are different, they already have the mass appeal, and it's not like leavers and laggers are going to stop dota games from being played.

However, I can tell you from experience that when playing CoD, it really, really, really sucks when the other 4 people on your team leave the game really early. It happened to me once. It completely ruins the game. I guess that after the 25th time that happens, you start to want to keep the idiots out.

I'm sure that some people use banlists for their own maps, but DotA is the only one that has an OFFICIAL BANLIST (dun dun duuuuun!). It's also an absurd one, but that's beside the point.
