Company of Heroes 2 is a real-time strategy game created by Relic. The game takes place during WW2 and you can either play as the Germans or Soviets. Take note that the Germans are not labelled as nazis, this could seem offensive to Germans.
The unit structure and concept is fairly simple, you can build 4 buildings. Each building is unlocks a different tier of units. The first tier is usually basic infantry units, a scout vehicle, and a sniper, and so on. The strongest units you can obtain in the game are Heavy Tanks, which can be easily countered with infantry units by a very skilled player (assuming the player using the tank is not very skilled).
There are 3 resources that you will use ingame, Manpower, Munitions, and Fuel. Fuel is typically the most sought-for resource as it will allow you to receive tanks earlier in the game. Munitions are used to upgrade your vehicles/units weapons and create bombs/mines or use special abilities. Manpower is generated by a preset number which is affected by how many units you have on the map. Essentially, the less population you use, the less manpower income you lose.
While the game at first-look is very simple, your must use tactics when you engage other players. Infantry units have different specialties and react different in every combat scenario you are placed in. The best way to use infantry units is to keep them under cover, and flank your enemies when they least expect it, also later in the game investing in AT (Anti-Tank) Infantry is highly advised. The Infantry's biggest weaknesses are obviously vehicles, so taking cover is extremely important. Another huge weakness that can be hard to avoid for a fairly unskilled player will be fire suppression. Your infantry units can easily become suppressed and useless when it comes to enemy machinegunners. Be aware of your surroundings before you attack your enemy, it could become your biggest mistake.
