Connectivity Problem

 I apparently have a connection problem with all my games, an example is in Warcraft III whenever I join or start a multiplayer game after about 30 secs or so of playing I suddenly get disconected from Battle.net, same thing happens with other online games like Diablo 2, EverQuest, DAOC etc... after a short period of playing time I get disconnected I dont know what may be causing this and Ive tried everything from reconfiguring my TCP/IP settings from reinstalling my modem and lowering transmit/receive buffers etc... The wierd part is that this only happens on games and when I use programs like Mirc, MSN Messenger, Kazaa, Internet Explorer my connection works fine and I never get disconected. If you have any idea of what may be happening please let me know. Thanks.

I downloaded adware and it removed me about 10 spyware files (Cydoor, Alexa, Doubleclick, etc) also I checked the startup apps that could maybe been causing conflicts and I only found that LoadQM may be decreasing my connection speed because im using windows ME all the other apps are apparently normal (I verified at the URL you gave me). So any other possible solutions or should I reinstall windows? I had read Blizzard tech support page and other games tech support pages as well and I havent found a solution. I get an error message on some online games that says "your client stopped receiving messages from the server" and in other titles like W3, D2, SC I only get "lost connection from battle.net after 30 or so seconds of playing.

Have you talked to your ISP, it sounds like they are running some sort of a firewall that is interfering with you doing online gaming.

It really sounds to me like your ISP is having a problem. The loss of connection can be caused by a routing problem. When you are surfing the web it would not be noticeable but online games tend to drop you if you are losing enough packets.

You can check this by taking your computer over to a friends house who has a different ISP or signing up for a free trial somewhere and checking with that.

If it is no problem for you to reinstall windows and get all Windows update then go ahead and do that first.

I am not sure how you are connecting to the internet (dial-up, DSL, Cable etc). but go here and run tweak test, if necessary say you are using ISDN with a connect speed of 100. that program will tell you if you are getting packet losses. It can also help you tweak your system to get the best performance if you have a High speed internet connection

It looks like I am goin to re-install windows because I tried to play with a different ISP account of a friend and the same thing is happening... Thanks for you help tho guys its very appreciated.

Ill reply again when I get my pc ready again farewell untill then.

Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.

  • The Helper The Helper:
I wonder how all these bots that sit on the lastest content page get passed anubis or maybe they did not but they are just registering on whos online
  • The Helper The Helper:
showing up on whos online not registration
  • Ghan Ghan:
The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.
  • Ghan Ghan:
That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after
  • Ghan Ghan:
Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
  • Ghan Ghan:
The internet is broken without it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Bot readable, not human usable.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    got it
