I recently put
JASS:
native GetAbilityEffectById         takes integer abilityId, effecttype t, integer index returns string

to good work to let me set data in the object editor and retrieve it in triggers. Granted, it's not any of the data fields, but I can do something like:
Art - Effect: _,10,15,20
[ljass]set cooldown = S2R(GetAbilityEffectById('Abil', EFFECT_TYPE_EFFECT, GetUnitAbilityLevel(GetTriggerUnit(), 'Abil')))[/ljass]

p.s: just joking, I just recently know this :)

@Weep, that's kinda cool, maybe I will use this instead of registering data at map initialization (into Hashtable)
