Corrupted Trigger Data

Hey

I've been trying to edit one of my favourite maps, Starship Troopers, but have come into the problem of map protection. I can't get ahold of the origional mapmaker, and I do not know how to unprotect a map which has lost its trigger data. If anyone could help me with some possible ideas, that would be great. The origional maker of the map doesn't seem to be making any new versions, and I want to continue it and possibly add some new graphics and make some nice changes. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think it's best that you respect the author's decision to protect his/her map, but you can still look at the JASS format triggers by editing [some file i'm too lazy to search the forum for the name of] which is stored inside the map.

There is one unprotector that works extremely well, but if i gave you the name i'm sure i'd be be tied to the back of a motorbike and driven over a mountain. The unprotector only goes to the extent of importing the JASS triggers to the main map, so you open it and view them. There are often syntax errors and refusals to save when unprotecting TFT maps, though. The unprotector only restores GUI triggers to RoC maps, so the best use for the unprotector(s) is to view the terrain and object data, unless you can fix the JASS triggers.

as the dude with the odd name says, we generally don't like to encourage/discuss unprotecting other people's maps around here. The community has been too damaged from the result of such actions that our favourite maps have had their entertainment value completely destroyed.

I know you have good intentions and everything, but the decision is a hard line one that applies to all cases (obviously unprotecting your own map is a different story, but that only happens in rare cases).
