My problem is that sometimes (about 1 in 3) the computer will stall after the console "moves up" after connecting to the server and usually a sound repeats over and over and I have to manually restart the computer. This also happens when checking the scoreboard (TAB).

I have a GeForce 2 MX-400.

My current drivers are NOT the latest (28.32) because 2x.xx drivers occasinally crash the computer sometimes when reading messages. Everytime it does this, some words get screwed up and it crashes.

I think my current driver is 11.32.

I have an MX-400 and haven't had any problems for awhile with CS. You don't need the lastest drivers to play.

I use to have that problem though, and I'm trying to remember how I fixed it. What version of Windows do you have and how much RAM do you have in your PC?

Ilendil,

Your PC is so old that the CPU and motherboard are most likely bottlenecking your performance, and as Swizzle inferred, that old EDO RAM is contributing. By no means is that motherboard 4x AGP, and it cannot take advantage of a newer graphic card—like that one.

If you've got the newest drivers for your video and sound card, as well as DirectX 8.1, there's really nothing we can do.

it should have a sticker on it, or it will be printed on it.
