I'm having the worst trouble with BF1942...I'm running a P4 1.6gz w/ a Radeon 9700 and Audigy 2 sound card...I've updated all drivers including the agp drivers for my motherboard and DX9.0b and the game keeps crashing out during gameplay to desktop and sometimes to reboot...can anyone help?? EA tech support was stumped. Are there optimal settings for the Radeon card?If so, could someone send them to me?
 
I have the same problem, and I have a Intel 4 2.5 with 512 DDR and a Radeon 9700 Pro, do you think it might be the new latest Catalyst 3.8 Drivers, I just installed it myself!!!! But I did not play the game with 3.7 so am not sure, anybody else having the same problem with BF 1942 v.1.45.18
 
Try this...uninstall Catalyst 3.8 and install Catalyst 2.5...also get windows updates...it seems to have worked.
 
well i cant even get the game to run past the splash screen. it will run after the first install and after the 1.1 update. but ofcourse i cant play multi player games because the servers dont run those older versions ofcourse. i have all the patches in order. 1.1, 1.2,1.3, 1.31, 1.4, 1.45 and the incrmentals. ive tried to install patches in various orders only to drop to the desktop after the splash screeen. lots of threds say newist drivers and updates but that is bull. in my case the game wount even load and im not the only one with this problem. if it were a driver problem the game simply would not run correctly, not perventing it to load. i think in alot of cases this is a software issue with ea games. either wrong reg entries or wrong config files and yes i tried changing refresh renderer to 1 from zero and saw a post to change stuff in game registry, the post from BOKIN about changing values in registry and i thought was it, but no go. personally the people changing drivers and such i think just get lucky and after many uninstall-reinstalls they just get it to work somehow. well my machine can run any game out there but this one. and another thing, why doesnt ea games have any good reports on this issue, i get more info from my peers than them.

well here is what BOKIN posted, and it made sense to change the values in SCRDIR REG_SZ C:\ and SRCDISK REG_SZ C: because mine said E: on both of them. but then again the game did run in 1.1 only with the values on E. oh well if anyone knows the final solution the the many who have these problems please post.

DO NOT GET INTO THE REGISTRY UNLESS YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE USING IT>>>YOU CAN CAUSE SEVERE PROBLEMS TO THE SYSTEM BY CHANGING THE REGISTRY...I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYONE MAKING A MISTAKE AND F***ING UP THERE SYSTEM. ONLY USE WITH CAUTION.

    I have two salmon, Sockeye and Atlantic. Atlantic is used for the kids salmon and the salmon and beet salad, and can also be added onto any dish or just as a side. Atlantic salmon will almost exclusively ever be FARMED, as it is endangered in the wild, and we ALWAYS cut them to 4 ounces.

    SOCKEYE salmon, very different and this IS wild caught. We have an ENTREE version, and an add on version. The entree is 7 ounces, the add on is 4. Why? Because that is how someone that wasn't me set up the computer.
