So i believe i have found a bug in reforged map editing, but after a couple of hours of playtesting now i cant for the life of me figure out why this happens.
So basically both of the lightning effects in the two different pictures here come from the same trigger.
Ive figured out/eliminated a couple of things:
1: When moving the paladin to the same location as the shadowhunter, they both got the same lightning effekt, so location had to be a factor.
2: Current Z position of Lightning, had no impact on it.
3: Terrain pattern below paladin had no impact on it, (recreated it under the shadow hunter.)
4:Units/nr of units on screen doesnt seem to affect it.
5: Length of lightning doesnt seem to affect it
Hypothesis so far: sheer number of terrainalterings and doodads around the location affects it somehow.
it really annoys me, as it's hard to create cool spell visuals when i have different results based on unknown variables.
