On 5/22/02 I called Creative labs to order a connector that apparently had not been included in my FPS2000 Speakers. The Mini din converter so you can connect the Audigy to the speakers digitally. During the course of the call I was asked for the serial number, which I did not have. I told the representative on the other end that I did not have the serial number because I was at work but I had registered the product online and provided the serial number there. She then informed me that they have no access to the database and it's actually a marketing database in Singapore. For warranty work you need to provide your receipt. This I found rather shocking because supposedly, according to the Installation program, you are registering. I then questioned the representative as to why we were required to register our product if Creative Labs didn't have access to the data about our product. The representative thought for a second and said the registration was backup for the receipt. I then asked what use was it as backup if Creative Labs didn't have access to it. This was met by silence followed by her quickly finishing my order. I am bringing this to the communities attention because I feel it is necessary to understand where your information goes when you register a Creative Labs product. The representative's name was Heather and I am signing this with my true name and email so as not to diminish my sincerity..
