custom icon green(disabled)

the problem is this,
though i read about it everywhere here
it still doesnt work
as I understand

in the game folder create 2 folders (out of 3)
war3folder/ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons
war3folder/ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled
(and for the 3rd one)
war3folder/ReplaceableTextures\PassiveButtons

you put the usual icon tga or blp format into command buttons folder
then the same picture , but darker, into Command Buttons Disabled folder

then in the editor you import both files

then in unit or ability build you select art icon interface
there you put it in either import or custom which would be for me ReplacableTextures/CommandButtons/BTN1.tga

do you have to put the disabled somewhere in the writing?
ReplacableTextures/CommandButtonsDisabled/DISBTN1.tga

what is the wrong part here??? :banghead:

both pictures work but they do not connect as they should
if i use either of the pictures it shows as active with the picture as i put in dark one or normal,
but when becones disabled it becomes green instead of the 2nd pic

i have the pic already, put it in the created folder and put the path
but the second pic doesn't work together with the 1 one

well then, for example: we use this press to look (its an icon)

then you see ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNANA_LightBeam.BLP etc
that is the path you need to change to in import, for example you import it and the path is War3Imported\BTNANA_Lightbeam.BLP then change that into ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNANA_LightBeam.BLP and it should work so its all about the path really.

btw what icon are you using and what path ?

EDIT ah, so you are using it together? you need to import both icons, change the path on example: War3Imported\BTNANA_Lightbeam.BLP to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNANA_LightBeam.BLP and then War3Imported\DISBTNANA_LightBeam.BLP to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNANA_LightBeam.BLP

its command button and disabled command button you use am i right?

i made an icon myself
but i tried similar icons from the same site
what i need is only normal and disabled

ReplacableTextures/CommandButtons/BTN1.tga

ReplacableTextures/CommandButtonsDisabled/DISBTN1.tga

oke, import the icons, change the paths, save the map and restart WE or WEU or what ever you are using. thats it really.

what do you mean.. from the normal change to disabled...
you put the normal adress into custom selection right?
ReplacableTextures/CommandButtons/BTN1.tga

what do you do then

your normal icon is ReplacableTextures/CommandButtons/BTN1.tga and ur disabled icon is ReplacableTextures/CommandButtonsDisabled/DISBTN1.tga. and btw i would convert the icons from TGA to BLP

after that just save the path and save the map and restart world editor and you can use it.

i tried also the blp
the same

but in the editor
for example
i chose a peasant
i want to change it's icon
so i choose art - icon - game interface
right?
it is set to preset which is already in the database
to change to a new one, made by custom
i either choose custom or import
if import i just select the one in the import list that i imported before
if in custom i must write the adress
ReplacableTextures/CommandButtons/BTN1.tga
right?
as there is another file
ReplacableTextures/CommandButtonsDisabled/DISBTN1.tga
it should use it because of same name
and use it as disabled right?
well it doesn't for some reason

the BTN1.tga file is succesful but the DISBTN1.tga is not... i tried vice versa,
then the DISBTN1.tga instead of BTN1.tga was succesful but BTN1.tga was not

when you are choosing the icon for the peasent just select the one in import editor that you imported don't write anything in the costum text because it will be fixed automaticly if you have an imported one and if you are using the icon to a model you dont need the disabled one because they are usual only to attacks etc

the peasant was an example...
my map is sort of a pg
but even on the peasant if i press f10 it is green
other units, when i want to train them, requiring buildings or something are disabled right?
their green
when i meet the req. they show the picture

your problem is fixed, i converted them to blp and i added the path you need to have if you want the icon and YOU MUST SAVE AND RESTART WORLD EDITOR AFTER! otherwise it wont work

YOU MUST SAVE AND RESTART WORLD EDITOR AFTER! otherwise it wont work

Only need to close the map, File \ Close Map (Ctrl + W) and then re-Open it.

And, your "BTN" icon is icon.blp so should the "DISBTN" icon named disicon.blp (or DISicon.blp) ?

why did you create these folders ?
When I import icons or models, I import them, change their paths, save map, close map and reopen the map, it works very well.

"BTN" icon is icon.blp so should the "DISBTN" icon named disicon.blp (or DISicon.blp) ?

i got the icons by him, i did not rename them, they were named icon and icondis.jpg, i converted them... didn't bother changing name since he already knew which was which.

when you write the path
do you put the import file in the import selection
or do you put the adress in the custom selection?
strangely if i use custom both pics are green
maybe i should consider reinstalling war3
