custom image in loading screen?

Hello, just wondering how i can change the Loading Screen into a custom picture?
I cant select "import files" coz its grey and untouchable..

Must i create a specific foulder? or must i have some specific file type on the picture to be able to use it?

I recently played with this. Good timing.

Each loading screen is four or more parts.

Top left
Top right
Bottom Left
Bottom right

In .blp format, each one is about 100k in size, added to your map. Remember that before you do it.

You need to make a skin for each of those. I reccomend extracting the existing skins, for proper size and color format.

Now, the loading screen thats called GENERIC, is pretty basic, with four skins.

others have four background skins, a skin file for the logo (night elf, human, etc) and skins for the levels location (picture of a castle, keep, arrows, etc)

For a custom loading skin, you'll need to set your map to the generic, and change those skins out.

(in my map, I only changed the skin for the human-shield logo. That cost me 45k of file size. If thats no concern, have at it!)

Hmm, i have selcted a file wich im gonna use, resized it, renamed it as tga then to blp..

now i have a mdx and a blp in my import manager..
but when i start the game, the only loading screen i get is a black screen..

Dunno if i have used wrong path or something..

this is home it looks this far:

textures\FullScreen.blp

tried making it similar to models/skins - by keeping a foulder with the mdx, then yet another foulder named "textures" in it, containing the blp.. but seems not to work at all

i really dont get this

i have seen more places where there is wrote u need an .mdx file

and here u say that u need 4 pictures of tga and put them in some sort of path

cant u explain it another way or easier way???

a loading screen is actually a 3d model, which consists of the mdx model file and a series of tga skins (just like any 3d model does in warcraft3). I believe what Ryoko is doing is just taking existing loading screen models and just modifying the skins. In the tutorial I linked to, they use a brand new loading screen model and skins.

if you want to just see a loading screen in action in your map (just for a start), extract these files from Warcraft III\Maps\FrozenThrone\Scenario\Monolith.w3x

war3mapImported\LoadingScreen.mdx

import them into your map using the same paths as above.

This is just to see a loading screen working in your map, because this method is terribly bloated and will make your map too big.

unregistered: you put your blp into the wrong path, there is NO IMPORT PATH, get rid of "textures\"
