Custom team colors (textures) not staying.

So I used the Image extractor program and exported two player team colors to edit. When applied, they show up in the editor, but not ingame.

I wanted to make a tan race, so I replaced the purples TGA file.
ReplaceableTextures\TeamColor\TeamColor04.tga

With the path above, the units are tan team colored in the editor, but not during the game.

What did I do wrong here?

For someone with 350 +rep, I doubt my answer is correct. But i've imported a lot of stuff into my map and never TGA shouldn't it be converted to a BLP?

Trust me, I left this account sitting for YEARS. I pretty much lost all my warcraft3 editor knowledge during those years.

Anyway, the extractor had them listed as TGAs instead of blps. I'll see if converting them will change anything.

Edit: Conversion changed nothing.

after you import them do u save close and reopen the map?
a lot of times this kind of "cements" imports in and really gets them into the map

and a lot of times things look like they dont work in the editor but really work in game, custom models often times dont show up in the editor when placed

I Imported them and closed the editor and reopened it. I was happy to see that the units in the editor were colored. But the effect doesn't apply in the game.

Have you played about with these options?

Art - Allow Custom Team Colour (True)
Art - Team Color (player 7 purple)

I'm changing the games team color it self (say, purple to pure white, or tan). Not an individual unit types color.

But it correctly shows up in the editor, which I assume is a sign that it is the correct path; or am I just being mislead?

thats a mislead, lol, it worked for me in the wrong path in the editor, but in game it didnt work, then i switched it and it didnt work in the editor (made a purple and black square) and it did in game

Mind telling me what the correct path is? I used the path "ReplaceableTextures\TeamColor\TeamColor03.blp", which shows in the editor, but has no effect on in-game coloring. (I even changed the constant in the GameInterface Dialogue)

well mine was a model and i never tried replacing textures before, but what i did was delete the first part, it would be ReplaceableTexturs\ in comparison, and it worked eventhough based on the tutorial it should have worked the first way and not the second, but its worth checking out, i would also do a search for the correct pathing file for the unit color files... and you should check the resolution, i believe it has to match exactly or it wont work as well
