Damage Type in trigger

If you got this function in your trigger editor:
Code:
Unit - Cause Temp_unit1 to damage Temp_unit2, dealing 50.00 damage of attack type Normal and damage type [B]x[/B]
What do the different damage types do?
Example: What's the difference between "Shadow Strike" and "Fire"?

Don't know if this will help, but it doesn't hurt to see a few pages for a while.
Cause Damage Type

EDIT:
Basically, if you want a magic damage, then use :
AttackType - Spells
DamageType - Magic

Because that's the one that makes the most sense.

Ok, thnx...

My own conclusion:
Universal = without reduction/bonuses
Normal = reduced by armor
Divine = can attack invulnerable
Magic = reduced by magicreduction

Rest requires some JASS trigger to do something?

Basically, if you want a magic damage, then use :
AttackType - Spells
DamageType - Magic
I know what all AttackTypes do, they check armor:p

I've re-read my own thread, and my conclusion is :

Universal
Goes through Magic Immunity (dunno about Invulnerability) Armor Amount, Armor-Type, and Magic Resistance.

Acid
Blocked by Magic Immunity and Invulnerability, reduced by Magic Resistance, but not by Armor Amount and Armor-Type.

Normal
Dunno about MagicImmunity, blocked by Invulnerability, not affected by MagicResistance, reduced by Armor Amount and Armor-Type.

Magic
Blocked by MagicImmunity, blocked by Invulnerability, not affected by ArmorAmount and ArmorType, but reduced by MagicResistance.

Others are not used in normal occasions (btw, I could be wrong)
If I have time, I'll make it in Excel and upload it here (I'm in the middle of an exam)

Except Spells attack-type.

Ok, lets be more specific:
By default the AttackType "spell" does 100% dmg to all armor types, although this is changeble in the GamePlay Constants.
