one stupid question but does graphic card have ddr ram on it??
the other day i saw a GEforce GTS 64mb DDR and i was wondering if this existed or is it juz a hoax??

and one other question my monitor cant receive the siganl and juz remain blank during boot up and may i know wat are the possible problems causing it beside the graphic card being faulty and that the cable is faulty....... and my monitor is connected to a port soldered to my mobo...if that matters...

thanx

I dont know bout tha monitor thang, but ive got an ASUS V7700 GeForce 2 Pro GTS Deluxe (or something like that), with 64Mb DDR Ram... so its no hoax... its real... the truth is out there...

alot of video cards use ddr memory lately .
and they preform alot better then vid cards with sdram .
if you can get a vidcard with ddr mem for a good price go for it :)

DDR is no joke on video cards, just like it's no joke on motherboards.
You need to plug the monitor into the video card itself, not the old built in graphics chip. When there's a card present the BIOS will default to using it instead of the built in. When you put the video card in, there should be a 15 pin monitor connector sticking out the back, monitor cable goes into this.

The problem is with my old pc.and the original config is plugging the cable into the port mounted on the mobo.It is a gateway product and it sort of sux..... the other day i opened it to clear a little dust and left it there 4 a few days......as i didn't have time to put it back.now im wondering if there's any problem with the mobo.
this is wat happens when i switch it on

1.Soundless 4 a few seconds
2.beeps two times
3.soundless again
4.beeps once
5.starts to boot(although i plugged out the HDD but it starts reading the floppy drive and does that familiar soound of booting up,so i assume its able to boot.)

anyway.....i changed my original TNT to another graphic card not sure wat as i got it from my bro and i plugged the monitor cable into it and still nothing apppears on the screen.....except the thingie
(ur monitor is working properly check if ur pc is on and
check that the cable is up the ass of ur graphic card or
port on ur mobo)

thanx

Does you mother board have a rectangular post on it with AGP 12V written underneath it, near the graphics port??

Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
