Diablo 2 Connection problem

I decided to play diablo 2 again after many years and I'm having trouble connecting to the d2 servers. When I try to log into any realm, it says "Unable to connect to Battlenet." I have windows 7 and an old linksys wrt54gs router. Here are the things I have done that haven't worked:

--Use port forwarding to open ports 4000 and 6112-6119. (portchecker says their open)
--Turned off my firewall on my router and computer
--set a static ip address for my computer
--put my computer's IP into DMZ

I can connect to the d2 servers if i connect my computer directly to my modem. But this isn't a great solution because I have 3 other computers that need the router. I'm average at computers, so please try to go step-by-step with your suggestions.

You're awesome. The first person i know to have connection troubles with Diablo 2 xD.

In any case, it doesn't seem to be computer or game related but rather you're firewall on the router. Try disabling NAT on you're router and try again. Changing the router might help (linksys isn't that great), but otherwise i have no solutions at the moment >>

How do I disable the NAT on my router? I don't know what that is. Can't seem to find it under my router's homepage

NAT prevents outgoing ip's to connect to you're computer (a.k.a blocks outside connections, like pinging etc.). It should be under either security or settings and then NAT/firewall settings.

There's a Filter Nat Redirection, but that didn't do anything. I guess I'll have to hook up my PC directly to the modem for it to work and play when the family isn't using the internet

Setup > Basic Setup > Wireless > Edit Security Settings

Set gateway mode to router mode. Hopefully that works.

My first reaction is to say that your CD Key is banned, but seeing as you can connect directly through your modem, this is not the case. You can also try disabling security settings, but that opens your computer up for a whole 'nother can of worms.

I tried changing it to router mode too, but that didn't work. It's definitely not the CD key because I can connect thru the modem.

My friend gave me his WRT54G router, do u think that will help if I swap to it? Also he didn't give me an install disc, so how would I install without it?

Try swapping the router, that should help (seeing as how thats the problem). No install disc required for the router, just open the DNS address in you're browser after you connect the router (usually you just type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.0.1). Then set it up in there.

  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
