Diablo 2 Expansion "error decompressing sprite"

I get this message frequently. It crashes the game on Battle.net.

I've taken all of Blizzard's suggestions (written to them twice). Didn't help at all.

I have all the newest drivers for my hardware.
Uninstalled/reinstalled countless times...
Toggled with CD-ROM dma/sync transfer
Defragmented the HD a bunch of times (I knew that wouldn't do anything)
Copied MPQ files from the Diablo II and Expansion CDs

The CDs aren't scratched at all, it's not a CD problem. I know it's not a CD ROM problem either, I've ran it on both the DVD ROM and my CD burner and it crashed the same amount of times on both.

Here's my system specs:
1.4 ghz AMD Athlon
128 MB RAM
Soundblaster Live
AGP GeForce 2 GTS 64 MB

I've checked Buck's threat too. I'm just hoping this time around people will have new suggestions.
I can't remember which mobo I'm using, I'll have to check on that.

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

    We are now on Ubuntu 24.04. Had some issues with the style after the OS/PHP upgrade but now resolved.

    The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.

    That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.

    Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after

    Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
