Diablo 2 patch problem

I used to play D2 a lot and i got bored of it and quit. Since then i have gotten a new computer and i wanted to try D2 again. I downloaded it and when i got to then end when updating the patch it stops and nothing happens. Anyone know why this might be i have Windows ME Dell DImension 8100. Also i get random errors on WC3 posted that in there. Dont know if they are related some how. - Thanks

Is it a pirated copy of the game? if so that could be the problem...

Or do you mean you "installed" it instead of downloading it (downloading implies you are pirating the game by getting it from some site instead of the CD)

Are you getting the patch through battle.net or manually from blizzard.com ? Whatever you are doing... try the other way.

try reinstalling and getting the patch again

Hey, my comp did the exact same thing, it froze at the end where it said blizzard updater v2.30. so as soon as i started to download the patch, i hit alt + tab and viewed a web page so the updater was running in the background. when i went to the windows icon try and clicked on Diablo II it said the patch was successfully installed and i was able to login. try that
