Diablo 2 Problems

Ok, Here's a kicker. Recently My friend and I haven't been able to enter the same public D2 room as the other. It doesn't matter whether either of us create it or if we try to connect to a previously stared room. When we try, it merely says that the room does not exist. We can enter a room with each other if it has a password on it (a private room I believe). When I got my new computer a week ago, I found that the d2char.dat file on my play disk had an error and therefore could not install on my computer. I used my friend's play CD and play disk only to install my game. I still used my own CD-Key with the install and cinematics CD. I then installed the expansion immediatly after that. We played that night and had no problems. The next night, however, we had this little problem. At the suggestion of others, we have both tried deleting the bncache.dat file and restarting but to no avail. Both if us are at a complete loss. Please Help! Thanks.

Did this problem start recently ? If so, you should contact the network administrator of your school about this.

The problem is simple either one of you has a firewall problem and the firewall was not in use that one night. There shouldn't be any play problems if either of you can play on your own.

i have been having the problem 2 it has just started on the new version and i dont know what it is either. to plat toghether ur game has to have a pw 4 some reason.

Got a problem myself

I was playing Diablo 2, normal battle.net
All of a sudden, this sorc char comes out, accuses me of stealing or trying to trick or duping away her soj or something. I think it was try to trick soj out of. Never touched an soj before, don't remember meeting this sorc before. Then later, I duel this barb. Using a malice runeword claw (and no tiger strike) I killed a lvl 18 barb with my lvl 22 assassin in four strikes. Sounds like a hack to me, except I never touch em. So I assume I was hacked by someone who's a bit more ruthless about trading and dueling than me. I changed my account password.
What do I do if that kill ppl in duelin hack remains? How can I tell if it's a hack or not? I wanna win my duels fairly.

I also have this problem, not only on the comp we have network but also with my brother who is in a different city. Some days we can join the same game and other days we can't. Just last night we joined all the same games (no password needed) and now today we can't. B-net doesn't have a problem with firewall or we would never have been able to join games before. Can play separate games just can't play together. No hacks no cheats no nothing to "enhance" game play. I loathe cheaters! Any help with this problem? Thanks in advance!
