I still play original starcraft on battle.net and I just got Bellsouth DSL. I also just got a new computer, and this is one of the first times I've played it. When I play battle.net games with more than one other person the game lags, while it plays fine when I play one on one, or two vs four comps. I signed on with my backup dial-up account and it plays fine, but I only get 20 hrs of that a month, and I want to be able to use my DSL. I tested my DSL connection at Toast.net and it said that I am running at 1251 K, which is better than their sample ADSL. It runs in the T1 range.
Also, I can only see the text of one person during the game, and that has been the game host so far.
I'm playing on windows 98 using Bellsouth DSL with a westell ethernet modem and without a router. At least, i think without a router, the modem they sent me says DSL router on the bottom, but i haven't set it up or anything. However, it did give me a strange IP address for myself 192.258.1.1 which is similar to an assigned ip address. If you can help please do. Thank you.
