Dis Icons

I have some custom icons have normal and dis icons. I imported them and gave them the correct name (BTNicon and DISBTNicon). However, they dis icon doesnt show up. To see if it was me or my icons that were the problem, i downloaded a map with working custom icons and imported them into my map and gave them the exact same paths, but it didnt work on my map :banghead: . I have read the tutorial so dont tell me to do that. I just dont know what im doing wrong.

change the path to ReplaceableTextures/CommandButtons/BTNicon
and ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNicon
and then if youve done that, move them into the wc3 files, reimport them, save your map, close WE, reopen WE

You do not have to move them into your Warcraft folder. It doesn't do anything so it is a complete waste of time.

Some icons are corrupted, meaning they will not work because of the way they were made.

Here are your paths if your icon is called BTNicon and DISBTNicon and is a TGA.
ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNicon.tga
ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNicon.tga

Yea that's pretty much true, what Starlite is talking about was relevant in the RoC days, you needed it to see your icons in the editor. Nowadays in the TFT editor, the editor reads the icon image from whatever folder you imported the icon from. So if you move the icon at any pont, the editor won't know where it is and thus can't show it in the editor. If you want to 100% avoid that problem though, put your icons into the "ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\" and "ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\" folders in your Warcraft III folder and it will always show up.

we're assuming he's doing that, because he claims to have read the icons tutorial. Guess it doesn't hurt to reinforce it though......
