Is there a way I can disable chatting for a particular player?


example:
When Player X dies, I want Player X to go to observer without chat privelages.

You could just check when the player dies, add them to a player group
and then edit out their text before its displayed and just display it to those
who are already dead? I think you'll still get their name
popping up on the screen with a blank text. Maybe there's a way around
that too. Nice idea tho

I haven't done anything like this myself, but I would try adding the player to observers.

the best way is to follow a tutorial and edit the UI, that way, all messages are invisible and you display chat using game messages.

the only other way is to change the players name to a large amount of spaces, this will make the text unable to be seen. Though there is a downside to this method, you will still be able to see the chat if you click on the Log at the top

i guess 0 is not observer and anything above 0 is observer.

that was the result i got when i tested, though i didn't bother testing with another player so iono
