Disabling Shields

Just wondering, is there a way to disabling/re-enabling a unit's Shields via trigger? Example: A Zealot can manually put up a shield(enabling shields), but when that shield is depleted, he cannot use that shield again for 10 seconds(disabling).

I take it you want it for individual zealots, so the catalog action is out of bounds.

How about just using triggers to set them to 0 or MAX, and remove shield regeneration?

Dont know if this would apply since you specified you want it done through triggers, but there is a field in the unit data editor that lets you set a delay before things regenerate. Could set it something like this:

Max shields: 100
Start shields: 100
Shield regen: 100 (if after the wait period you want them to have full shields again)
shield regen delay: 10 (10 seconds before shields start regenerating again at the shield regen rate)

could use this in combination with the triggers to set max shields for a more controlled effect of turning them on when the user wants to.
