Do custom models use the units animations?

My question is, do custom models use the heroes animations you based it off of? So if I had a custom samurai and I based him off of the Paladin, would his attack and stand and so forth animations be the same of the paladins? I am wondering because I heard this on www.wc3campaigns.com and I noticed one of my custom models used the Paladin's animation. I would test this myself, but unfortunately I cannot and I am very eager to hear the answer.

Not always no.

Its always easier to modify than to start from scratch.

If they KEEP the same animations, and just alter the meshes and geosets, YES.

If they change the model's movement and animations, NO.

If they start from scratch, NO.

Example:

They want to make a ninja. They start with the demon hunter model, and import that into MAX. They change the meshes, geosets, and skins to look like a ninja. Save the model and bring it back into WC3. They never changed the animations, and re-used them, so they are the same.

Good time to note, GMAX doesn't import anims, nor export them well anyway.
