Hey
I'm not sure if there's a virus on my PC.
I was happily surfing the web and there was a suspicious link for a video download. I clicked the link and it direclty lead me to the download of a .exe file. Pretty sure that is a virus, so I didn't download it.
What threw me off however was my antivirus programm telling me about a dangerous program right after I clicked the link (I didn't download the file).

Pretty sure it's false alarm, but I want to be sure.
Can I get a virus like this?

Thanks in advane

I'm not sure. Try running a scan. If you notice anything suspicious then you may have one.

It probably just picked up a cookie or cached file as a virus from the site you visited. This could be from the site itself or one of the ads on the site.

Anti-viruses usually get rid of these without a problem, so you are most likely fine.

Ok then you should be ok... If anything strange pops up in the next few days you can always try a system restore :)
