Here's the deal:
Humanity is on its last legs: the world's dead are returning from the grave by some strange phenomenon and attacking the living. At first, it posed little threat. The zombies were universally slow and aimless. However, they started to mutate, most gaining speed and strength, but with some gaining strange, powerful abilities. There is no government, no plan. You and a group of 5 other ex-military survivors gear up to stave off the undead assault in a small town to cover the retreat of the other villagers. Word has it that a scientist living nearby is developing experimental weapons that can aid you. You must find him, or you will not last for very long.


Objective: Survive for as many rounds as you can! :eek:

Gameplay:
Players will use the arrow keys to move their survivor while the camera constantly follows them. Barricades will block off several choke points and will prevent infected from passing (some special infected can move through barricades) that can be repaired by standing nearby while it is not under seige. If a survivors health drops to 0/100, he is incapacitated. Incapacited survivors can be revived by teammates and will be killed if not revived within 25 seconds. Dead survivors will be revived the next round. Weapons, perks and access to new regions are purchased with points that are generated by killing enemies and repairing barricades. Special infected award more points, and killing a Juggernaut will award points to all survivors.


Meet The Infected:
- Common Infected -
The mass of the undead horde consists of this zombie type. Common infected vary in speed.

- Grappler -
A stronger, faster version of common infected that grab survivors and devour them.

- Psyker -
A zombie with paranormal abilities ranging from psychic screams and icy blasts to raising fallen infected. It is believed that psykers are responsible for the reinforcement of the undead horde.

- Boomer -
These large infected can spew a corrosive bile that eats away at the survivor's armor.

- Juggernaut -
The largest infected that you will face. Can take huge amounts of punishment while pummeling enemies into the ground.

More powerful infected do not appear until the later rounds. Common infected also gain speed as the rounds progress.

Perks?:
  • Trigger Happy: Increases rate of fire.
  • Dexterity: Reduces reload time.
  • Stopping Power: Increases bullet damage.
  • Fireworks: Increases explosives damage.
  • Resilience: Increases health.
  • Runner: Increases movement speed.
  • Physicist: Increases the damage of experimental weapons.
  • Field Medic: Reduces revive time.

Perks are purchased at various locations and lose their effect only when the survivor is incapacitated.


Powerups:
  • Double Points
  • Double Damage
  • Nuke

More to come!
Powerups are dropped from infected which the survivor can obtain by walking over. Special infected have a higher % chance to drop powerups. Double Points and Double Damage effect all survivors. Nuke deals massive damage to enemies, eradicating all infected instantly except for the Juggernaut and awarding all players 400 points.


Weapons:
*Rifle (Type: bullet)
Semi-automatic, high range and decent damage.

*Submachine Gun (Type: bullet)
High rate of fire, short range and low damage.

*Minigun (Type: bullet)
Very high rate of fire, medium range and decent damage. This weapon is heavy and reduces movement speed.

*Sniper Rifle (Type: bullet)
Semi-automatic with very long range and very high damage. Can penetrate through multiple enemies.

*Shotgun (Type: bullet)
Semi-automatic with very short range and very high damage. Fires buckshot in a spread, with the ability to hit multiple enemies at once.

*Assault Rifle (Type: bullet)
Decent rate of fire, long range and high damage.

*Vacuum Gun (Type: experimental)
Can project a powerful stream of air that damages and pushes enemies back, and pull light objects (e.g. barrels, crates, etc.) and small zombies and use them as projectiles.

*Biorifle (Type: experimental)
Projects bubbles of toxic waste that attach to the ground and explode upon contact with enemies or after several seconds. Range is determined with each shot.

*Electric Gun (Type: experimental)
Projects an arc of lightning that causes massive damage and disables zombies temporarily.

*Inferno Cannon (Type: experimental)
Fires a massive ball of fire that damages and sets fire to enemies that it passes through.

*RPG (Type: explosive)
Causes massive area of effect damage upon contact with an enemy or object.

*Grenade Launcher (Type: explosive)
Fires special grenades that explode upon impact, causing area of effect damage. Range is determined with each shot.

Weapons and ammo are purchased from several locations around the map and are lost only when the survivor is killed. Some weapons can only be bought in a particular region. To purchase a weapon, the player moves his survivor to the corresponding area (which will be marked with the weapons name) and presses the "Escape" key. The ammo for each weapon is purchased in the same region as the weapon itself with the same function.

- The map is in its VERY early stages
- My main concerns are: easy movement controls and easy aiming
- I will update this thread as progress is made, such as a diagram of the map, new weapons, perks and infected, screenshots, etc.
