DS or PSP?

Which do you think is a better handheld (consider everything)?

In my opinion the DS is a better system in terms of gameplay. PSP has better visuals but graphics do not make the game the gameplay does.

Why is the ds better for gameplay? What is it that makes it so great? Two screens? Whoopie. It is more like a gimmick to me. TouchPaD? that makes for an awkward holding experience. Hand-held means HAND HELD. Ahem, that said, I think the PSP has more potential than the DS.

He didn't say DS had better gameplay, he said that gameplay makes the game rather than graphics, which I agree with frankly. And as a general statement, I think DS will have better games, as I think Nintendo consoles always do.

Your entitled to your own opinion, but in my opinion the ds offers more for gameplay. The touch pad works well for FPS games and RTS while the microphone offers new ways to play and with Nintendo's online service coming, the ds will have great games coming towards it.

A touch pad for a FPS...when I tried a demo, it was very awkward to play with. What was even stupider was the fact that the buttons were woefully underused. There should have been an option, easily doable, to allow for a non-touchscreen style of playing...just use the buttons to move, and the dpad to aim. The microphone is another gimmick. I am not speaking from experience, but I don't see much use for it. Talking to your opponent isn't all that useful to me. Talking to the game can be equally fruitless. If I am proven wrong, then thats a good thing. But I can just say what I see.

I have the ds and not the psp, some graphics like on the urbz for ds SUCK. I don't get why it sucks because the graphics for mario 64x4 or w/e it called where ALOT better. For psp I havn't seen a game with bad graphics yet. psp has more games out right now, ds has crappy games right now. (pokemon dash, xx yy) For the game xx yy its a picture of a hot girl in a bakini for the cover but she has nothing to do with the game at all. I heard that the new pokemon (dimond & pearl) are going to be for ds and all other games. Soon I think gamboy will become like N64 and they will stop making games for it. psp is ALOT of money and I would rather spend it on a new guitar or somthing. I wanted ds because games like mario and link would be coming out for it and those are fun. I would hate if they make the new super smash for ds. Both are good things so basically you can get either one.

But enough with ds and psp, anyone hear about revelution? I heard the controllers are going to be touch. That would be really weird not being able to hear the button go down or bing able to feel it.

i havent been keeping track with the revolution, but in a way, comparing the PSP and the DS is trivial. They aren't meant to be compared. They aren't even in the same league. The revolution will prob be in the same league with the PSP. Like I have said before, The DS is a novelty, a gimmick, and a half-way point. But man, if that is the half way point....what would the final product be like...

The DS can produce much better graphics than Mario and like I said earlier graphics don't make the game. I'm not a fanboy, I like both the DS and PSP they are great systems and both (like enigma said) are in a different league. Anyways I've heard rumors about Revolution that would blow your mind out.

If I have time I'll make thread from all the rumors that I've heard  but for the sake of this thread lets try to stay on topic.

Also 200th post, clicky clack

Can you please tell us why ds owns by far because I think there both great.

I prefer the Nintendo DS. PS2 may have better graphics & things like that, but Nintendo is much better of a Hand Held system.

- Dual screens
- Much longer battery life
- Bottom screen can also act like a touchpad (you can touch things instead of clicking)
- Wireless LAN connection that can support up to 16 people
- Microphone (you can talk into it for certain games or chat wirelessly with each other on LAN)
- Backwards compatable. (you can still play old games, while on the PSP you can't play any old games)
- Way more games
- 100$ cheaper & weighs lighter

History repeats itself...Nintendo's Gameboy (the first one) & Sony's Game Gear were some of the first hand helds. Gameboy, as you guys hopefully know, did much better. It had worse graphics & things than Game Gear, but Game Gear took like 16 AA batteries and had a shorter battery life.

From the first page.... :D

yeah that was sort of useless to post it again and say your opinion but I guess it doesn't matter anyways rolf...

Umm well the duel screen don't really matter, make come games harder to get use too.

I don't care if the battery last 24 hours. Only stupid people who have no lives need that much battery life becauser thats all they do.

Touchpad= yeah w/e.

Psp gonna has internet connection and will be able to play games online soon.

Microphone, yeah w/e. Im not going to be talking on a nyc bus to my ds.

Its not like you can play gc games on ds why shousld the psp play ps2 games.

Acually it has less and crapier games.

100$ for a better system I look at it. :)

Im not saying ds bad, Im just saying that psp is equaly good.

DS battery is about 10 hours and PSP is about 2-4 hours depending on how much processor you are using (like if you are watching a movie with sound or if you are simply browsing through your image files).

Bad things of a bad battery:
1) Having to replace the batteries very often = costs money and time.
2) On a plane trip, you generally spend more than 2-4 hours of waiting time or having spare time...I'd rather not have to bring along batteries...

Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?

    LOL! A tweak job!

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
