Dummy units

how exactly do you create a dummy unit? im pretty sure i could use them fluently if i knew how to make them


and i am trying to make a heal/dmg spell but i cant get it to affect anything other than living/undead instead of ally/enemy

Dummy unit:

Object Editor,
find a unit that does little to nothing, Frog for example.

Right-click, create custom unit.

• Change the Model, Shadow and Pathing to NONE
• set attacks enabled to NONE (if there are any)
• remove all abilities (if there are any)
• set the collision size to 0
• you may want to give it the "locust" ability, so it can't be selected

There you are, an invisible, unselectable, doing-nothing-at-all unit.

once you have the dummy unit... how do you make it do effects if it has no skills?

Ace, it seems to not want to let me change the model to NONE, it's not on the list of options. How do you turn off the model?

I read Ace as saying saying set Shadow and Pathing to None on the Model, not Model to none.

You can give the skills desired to the dummy unit to give it a use.
Also, you cannot disable the model file, simply set the scale of the dummy unit to 0.

of course you can disable the model file, just shift double-click the field and put an underscore in it (a "_" for those who don't know what an underscore is).

You can also copy & paste "none" from some other "model" field, like "projectile art".
